The attack on Emir of Kano

Men on motorbike and in a car this afternoon attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, at Masalaci Murtala area of Kano. The Emir was returning from a ceremony at a mosque when the men opened fire on his convoy. The Emire survived the attack, but his driver and two guards were killed.

No group has taken responsibility for the attack...

    1. When a war is going on somewhere it is like a fairy tale; now it is reaching those that can make a difference, perhaps they will sit up and pay attention. If their rulers are affected, they will know how to bring out the culprits. Nevertheless, dooo, Emir

  17. When Kano was attacked the Emir cried publicly. Surely that counts more than words. It is ironic you have no harsh words for the evil mindless terrorists who took innocent lives but rather choose to attack the Emir. Terrorism may well be the spark but ignorance is the fuel that could consume us all.

  29. Love your land and your people back. Fix the infrastructures for the masses that employed you as their leader. Serve your people with the kind of love you have for yourself and your children. People employed you to serve them, not for them to serve you. This applies to the military, police and other security personnel, you are not animals in uniform, stop behaving like rabid animals.
Return stolen loot and create jobs for all. Nobody is asking for handouts, just a chance to survive through hard work from the jobs you have created, the infrastructures you have repaired and others you have made available.

  30. These Boko haram is a very serious threat that must be nipped on d bud! Key to fishing them out? Intelligence,Monetary reward foR any information regarding their hideouts, and direct asssault on these bastards and d elements who they work with, irrespective of their status in society!Very soon they will bring in d alkaida elements to take over d rest of nigeria.

  31. I have always said that this boko haram people are not a religious group bt a political, wicked and devilish group of human beings that don't know God.they are just causing confusion in the country all in d name of politics.God wil judge all these people.the people in government know who boko haram is,jonathan knows who they are.why do they keep arresting and releasing them or they end up escaping, are they the only ones there. Now cos the emir does bot suport, they want him dead.God will judge.i ano so angry with how things are in nigeria now!

  35. DeMyk says:@ those asking if the car posted in the story is part of the convoy; blind bats abi una no sabi read ni? Linda said they attacked on bikes and a car. So that must be the attackers car. And even if that was part of the convoy cars, what's wrong with that? If he had all 2013 Range, you people would have still complained

  36. You people sabi open your mouth dey talk anyhow as if you don't know that they have warned people to mind their business and not talk about them, if you do that when you enter their list and become a target. I think this is just the political boko haram that is after him because today even when armed robbers attack police would open their mouth and say its BH. Sha May god help us all and its the time for constant prayers to God whether your a muuslim or christain just put it in your head every mornin n nyt to pray for peace becausee you never can tell who would be a victim

  45. i hope obasanjo will be listened to now….you never negotiate with terrorists people blaming obasanjo should look at george bush and also algeria how they dealt with the terrorists..instead of a long drawn out media circus they took them out sharply and funny enough when they got in the terrorists had already killed some hostages meaning they would have been deceiving the govt and getting free media coverage for weeks….

send intelligence people in there to gather proper intelligence and then isolate them then wipe them out,if they come at you 100 times wipe them out 150 times thats when they know that some minority cannot hold the whole of nigeria to ransom….

pls check the record of terrorist attacks in algeria compared to other places..

the day you start negotiation with terrorists you have shown them your weaknesses

  47. This man is much hated by northerners just because he is enlightened. The believe that his association with the southerners has made him weak. He's a good friend of King Sijuwade of Ife. Rumors has it that his first wife is Yoruba and that he goes around with his first because of fear of his people assassination.
