How do I sum up 23 years in one page? I don't know. How do I describe you? I cannot. Not in any depth. Not for anybody else - you were my husband, my brother, my friend, my child. I was your queen, and it was an honour to have served you.

You were the lion of my history books, the leader of my nation when we faced extinction, the larger-than-life history come to,  my life - living, breathing legend. But unlike the history books, you defied all preconceptions. You made me cry from laughter with your jokes, many irreverent. You awed me with your wisdom. You melted my heart with your kindness. Your impeccable manners made Prince Charming a living reality. Your fearlessness made you the man I dreamt of all my life and your total lack of seeking public approval before speaking your mind separated you from mere mortals.

Two motorists killed in quarrel over minor car accident in Lagos

Not real accident...

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, two motorists were killed in a scuffle over a minor car accident today Friday 2nd March in the Tin Can Island area of Lagos.

Police Spokesman, Ihemdi Godwin, told newsmen that during the fight, one of the motorists fatally stabbed the other. Eyewitnesses said that the accident occurred near Coconut Bus-Stop on the Apapa expressway but the motorists chased each other to Tin Can Port area where the scuffle ensued.

Court orders NDLEA to pay compensation to Baba Suwe

An Ikeja High Court today ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to pay the judgement sum of N25 million awarded actor, Baba Suwe, within the next 21 days

But NDLEA lawyer said the agency couldn't afford to give any individual that sum because they need money to perform other important statutory functions...all they can offer is their apology.

And beat goes on!

EFCC Press Release: Gbenga Daniel Not Discharged and Acquitted; EFCC to Re-file Charges

Contrary to media reports that Otunba Gbenga Daniel has been discharged and acquitted by the ruling of an Abeokuta High Court today, the EFCC wishes to clarify that the ruling of Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje was not a discharge and acquittal of the former Ogun State Governor.

The trial judge only released Mr. Daniel on the sole technical ground that the Commission failed to seek the consent of court before filing the amended charges against the former governor.

Gbenga Daniel discharged and acquitted of corruption charges

A state high court in Abeokuta this morning discharged and acquitted the embattled ex-governor of Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel of all corruption charges, saying the EFCC had not provided enough evidence of corruption against him.

Gbenga Daniel was in 2011 accused of money laundering, fraud and corruption while serving as the governor of Ogun state. SMH for our Nigerian courts!

NDLEA arrests Pakistani with N120m heroin

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested a 35-year-old Pakistani with 13 kilogrammes of “high grade” heroin with an estimated street value of about N120m.

The anti-drug agency said the suspect, Mr. Syed Ahmed-Bukhari, (pictured above) was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, shortly after arriving aboard a Qatar Airways flight from Doha.

Hollywood actors Mickey Rourke & Kim Basinger to star in Jeta Amata's new movie - Black November

Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger and Kim Basinger who starred in “9 1/2 Weeks,” will reunite in the political film “Black November” from our very own Nigerian director Jeta Amata. Rourke plays a CEO of an oil company that will do anything to make money and is responsible for spills, pipeline explosions and burning villages in Nigeria. The message is Western exploitation of Niger Delta, the local corruption that greases it and violent local resistance. “Black November” is due out later this year.

Despite dating some of the finest women in the world, there are those who think the actor is gay. In an interview with gay and lesbian news magazine, The Advocate, Goerge Clooney addressed the rumour for the very first time. He said:

I think it’s funny, but the last thing you’ll ever see me do is jump up and down, saying, "These are lies!" That would be unfair and unkind to my good friends in the gay community,' he told the publication.

I’m not going to let anyone make it seem like being gay is a bad thing. My private life is private, and I’m very happy in it. Who does it hurt if someone thinks I’m gay? I’ll be long dead and there will still be people who say I was gay. I don’t give a s***.'

19yr old Nigerian Teen, Victoria Osoteku, found guilty of murder in the UK

On 25 March 2010, 17 year old Victoria Osoteku armed a 20-strong mob who ‘hunted down’ and hacked to death a15-year-old boy at a railway and underground station in front of rush-hour commuters.

Sofyen Belamouadden was punched, kicked and stabbed to death in a ‘brutal and merciless murder’ planned on Facebook after a feud between pupils from two rival schools erupted into violence.

Victoria was the one who bought the knife that was used to stab Sofyen, and she was also captured on CCTV kicking Sofyen in the head before running off, leaving him to bleed to death.

Senate orders FRSC to suspend issuance of new driver’s licences & number plates

The Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives yesterday directed the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to immediately suspend the implementation of the new driver's licence and vehicle number plates on the grounds that the innovation is creating further hardship for Nigerians.

God bless you NASS. What the heck do we need new vehicle number plates and driver's license for when the ones we got a few months back doesn't expire till 2014? Why the re-introduction of new plates that costs so much to get? Why can't they wait till 2014 when the one we are using now expires? This country sha!

So Ibori pleaded guilty to save Nigerians the embarrassment? *Yimz*

Lol, that's what Mr. James Ibori's media assistant, Tony Eluemumor, is claiming. According to him:

Ibori pleaded guilty to the 10 count charge of stealing, money laundering and corruption because as an elder statesman and patriotic Nigerian, it was in the best interest of the country that its name gets saved the embarassment of a long court process that’d have had the country’s name bandied for the wrong reasons in a foreign court.

What a dumb excuse...next pls!!!
