Princess Bisola Tejuosho welcomes baby boy in the US

Popular Lagos girl and one of the daughters of HRH, Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, Princess Abisola Tejuosho, has given birth to a bouncing baby boy in the US.

Bisola married her longtime love, Olalekan Akanbi, in July 2011. Big congrats to the new parents.

Kano Multiple Bomb Blasts: Over 143 bodies discovered so far

Hospital officials in Kano have put the death toll from yesterday's multiple bombings at over 143. They expect to find more bodies. Also, the Kano State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew in the state.

Meanwhile two explosions shook the city of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, last night.

Heidi Klum and Seal to divorce. Who would have thought?

You see some couples and you just feel they will be together...for a long time. Heidi and Seal was one of those couples for me. It was really shocking when I read on TMZ today that the pair were separating after only six and a half years, and three children together. They seemed so in love, they renewed their vows every year, they were almost perfect.

But it seems in Hollywood, nothing lasts...except of course Christopher Plummer's career...:-)

Not only did Kobe Bryant lose half his assets to her, a whooping $75 million, she also gets to keep all three of his mansions. The one the couple was living in, the one her mom is living in, and the new mansion that had just been completed. Kobe ain't getting that either. Ouch!

Channels TV Reporter, Enenche Akogwu, Killed in Kano Blasts

31 year old Channels TV reporter, Enenche Akogwu, was shot dead today by Islamic militants during the Kano bomb blasts that rocked the city. 

Eneche arrived at the Farm center police station shortly after the first bomb exploded there and approached by-standers thinking they would tell him what they had seen. Before Akogwu could realize they were Islamic militants, the men had pulled out a gun and killed him on the spot

The late reporter graduated from Benue State University in 2004 and joined Channels Television as a reporter in Abuja two years ago. He was later made the station’s correspondent in Kano. He was the winner of Channels Television’s 2011 Chairman’s award and was honoured at the station’s end of the year celebration.

Akogwu had only returned to Kano two days ago after spending some time in Lagos. So so so sad! May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Nigerian quadruplets graduate from same UK university with masters degree, same day

23 year old quadruplets; Toks, Temi, Tobi, and Tolu Ogunsanya, graduated from Warwick University with Master Degrees, on the same day.

Toks graduated with anMEng in manufacturing and engineering, while Temi, Tobi and Tolu all gained an MSC in management from Warwick Business School.

Gunmen Kidnap American in Warri, Delta State - Reuters

Gunmen kidnapped an American working for Marubeni Corp in Nigeria's oil-rich Niger Delta region on Friday, killing his driver and demanding a 50 million naira ($310,300) ransom, a security source said.

The U.S. embassy confirmed that one of its citizens had been abducted.

"A foreign national was kidnapped this morning in Warri by gunmen who trailed him from Sapele," Charles Muka, spokesman for the Delta Police Command, told Reuters.

Boko Haram unleash terror on Kano: Multiple explosions hit the city

 

At least 20 deadly bomb blasts rocked the city of Kano this evening. Several police stations and SSS office attacked. The AIG Zone 1 police HQ situated along BUKRd was bombed. Immigration headquarters bombed. Explosions in Bompai, Farm Center Police Station, and several other police stations in the city. There's also reports of heavy gunfire. Several people confirmed dead, including a Channels TV reporter, Enenche Akogwu, who was killed while filming the attack at Farm Centre Police Station in Kano.

The 73-year-old singer died today Friday January 20th at Riverside Community Hospital from complications of leukemia, with her husband and sons at her side.

Jimoh Ibrahim buys 34-floor hotel in dubai for $500 million

Popular Lagos billionaire business man, Global Fleet Group chairman, Jimoh Ibrahim, 44, who is into aviation, insurance, oil and gas, media, banking, properties etc, is set to open his 34-floor hotel in Duabi, where he also owns and rents over 50 flats in the city's very exclusive area.

Acquiring the hotel was said to have cost the billionaire, who owns the only university in Sao Tome, at least half a billion dollars and will be opened in February, 2012.

Jimoh Ibrahim also recently bought a hotel in Budapest in Hungary; that's plus the very many posh hotels he owns in Lagos; that's plus the banks (Energy Bank) he owns in Accra Ghana; that's plus owning National Mirror newspaper and Newswatch magazine; that's plus owing Air Nigeria and Nicon Insurance...and many more businesses.

Pastor Paul Adefarasin's Rock Cathedral to open in March

Pastor Paul Adefarasin's led House on the Rock church building, Rock Cathedral, which has gulped nearly N2billion to erect is nearing completion and, if things go according to plan, will be officially commissioned in March 2012, according to those in the know. The church, which sits on 32, 000 square meters, when completed will sit at least 10, 000 thousand worshipers in the church auditorium and another 10,000 within the church premises. The Rock Cathedral, also known as Millennium Temple is situated along the Lekki Epe Express way, close to Liberty Hall.

Members of House on the Rock church currently use the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel for their services.

These people must think Nigerians are stupid sha. SMH. Kabir Sokoto, the Christmas Day Boko Haram bomber who allegedly escaped while in police custody on Sunday January 15th has suddenly been re-arrested.

Sokoto was supposedly arrested at the Nigeria-Chad border in Borno State today, just a few hours before the 24hr deadline given to the IG of police by the president, expired.

Photos: Protest march against deployment of army holds in Lagos

 

Dr Tunji Braithwaite, Idika Kalu, Ishaq Akintola and other activists this morning marched to the Lagos State House of Assembly, where they were received by the Deputy Speaker of the house. From there the crowd started to march towards the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota, but were turned back by police at the 7up junction who threw tear gas at the protesters. The rally was then held at the car park of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

This march was not about the fuel hike, it was about the deployment of army to Lagos state. More photos when you continue...

PM news is reporting that Daddy Showkey has been attacked again by people suspected to be hired assassins, barely a year after gunmen stormed his Alagbole home killing one of his aides.

Showkey was attacked on Tuesday by suspected hired assassins near a petrol station on Agidinbgbi, Road, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

Narrating his ordeal, the Ajegunle Soldier said he was on his way to the petrol station when he noticed that two men on a motorcycle were riding behind him

GEJ gives IG of Police 24hrs to produce Christmas Day bomber

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday gave the Inspector-General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, 24 hours to produce Christmas Day bomber and Boko Haram member, Madala Kabiru Sokoto, who the police claim escaped while he was being led to his residence in Abaji, or face the consequences.

The commissioner of police, Zakari Biu, was suspended by the IG following the escape and GEJ's 24hr deadline ends today. Let's wait and see what happens if the escapee is not found...#nothingdeyhappen!

Lagos State Govt Grants Save Nigeria Group Permission to Protest

Hi my name is Richard Mofe-Damijo and contrary to d rumours yesterday that I was in a coma, unconscious n even dead, I am ALIVE and WELL. God kept us (my driver n I) alive by His hands. This is to say thank u and a big God bless u all for the prayers and well wishes especially those expressed towards my driver following the accident yesterday in delta state. I am very ok but my driver is still in a critical condition. Pls keep him in ur prayers. We are believing God to arise on his behalf and restore him to full health. 

As for the guys who rammed into us I ve no idea where they are but we pray for them too... It is well.
