Woman falls from the sky? Oh dear! :-)

Why do people believe such stories? I don't! But some of  you might, so decided to share..:-). According to a LIB reader who took the photo and sent the story in; around 4am this morning, a woman (pictured above) supposedly fell from the sky in front of a house that was doing all night prayer. The house is behind Redeemed Christian Church of God, Eagle Island, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. They said after she fell, she started crying and speaking a language nobody could understand.

Usually with stories like this we hear of mob action. But nobody tried to beat this woman. People were too scared to go near her. Halleluyah for that!

Some of you remember that 11 year old boy that was set ablaze some years back in Surulere, after some people claimed he fell from the sky? Fashola arrested quite a number of people for his murder, but were all later released. Why do some people believe such stories? Do you? Are there really flying witches at night? I'm on the fence on this one :-)

  6. What I think is, if you believe that there is a God and also a devil, then every other thing in between (witches, wizards, spirits, angels, demons etc) exists.
And if there was a logical way of proving these things, then we will have power over God, nd I knw God will never allow that.

  30. It just so happens that these sort of stories are rampant in Africa. Abi oyibo no dey get winch too? Superstition steeped in tradition blended with religion. Every house-help is a witch yet we still employ them, some mother-in-laws are witches we discover only after we are married to their son or daughter, some of our own parents are witches , we discover when we can't have children or meet with other misfortunes in life etc etc...

In the midst of all this we have the politicians , the Adenugas and Dangotes...and of course the Lindas who aren't touched by all these and one wonders if some people specifically picked out by the 'demons' to be cursed?

I think superstition is a general excuse we use in this part of the world to excuse not working hard enough sometimes or explain the fact that life sucks sometimes through no fault of ours

If u can't answer dis questions den hold ur peace n tink 4 a moment. There's supernatural things hapenin dat u hav no idea of. Dnt use dis scientific n logical brouhaha 2 satisfy urself. Its not an enuf explanation. All d ppl u mentioned above do u kno wat dey really believe in or do wen dey are out of d public eye?

Was being prayed for once and in the morning, the gateman told me that during the night prayer meeting, numerous crying blackbirds gathered round the massive building at GRA Benin City.In my life, I have had numerous near death experiences-almost drowned @ the River Niger, been shot at and my driver killed, fell from my factory with a cut tongue/broken neck, now with an almost ruined business, debts etc.Confessions have been made by the witches about me. Better believe about witches but God is greater.Remembered two of these cases at Benin city- a naked woman was hanging on the High tension Power line at Ekosodin, off Ekewan Road, Benin City and another near the Benin By-pass intersection where an Hausaman saw a big rabbit and pursued it with a dagger only for the latter to turn to a human being.Trust Hausamen, they burnt her alive.

  106. It's so sad that we can be so academically intelligent but spiritually stupid. For someone to think witches are not real. You must be living in the island of spiritual ignorance. Even herbalists i.e babalawo know withches, wizards, demons, evil spirits exists. Linda, I was once like you, sitting on the fence. I was in the hostel in Uni. and believed evryone in my hostel was pure, until God purposely made me see a witch in action one night. I was so scared. To think someone who looked so pretty, quiet and innocent could be a witch. Shocking! There was also a time, I totally debunked the existence of ghosts and was very defensive about it. And alas! A ghost I saw. All these happened at night in school when i felt I needed to go nd use the toilet. Linda and other LIB readers, u better believe o!. The fact that you don't even believe puts u right where the devil wants you, the 'school of ignorance'. No wonder the bible says 'my people perish for lack of Knowledge'.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I believe in the existence of witches but the reason I don't believe this story is cos, she should be dead if she indeed fell from the sky. It ain't a one-storey she fell from, it is the sky so she can't be unhurt like that.

  108. You guys that believe in this crap are funny.first of all,how come this alleged witch fell behind redeemed church or whatever?how come it was not behind a catholic or Anglican church but a private church owned by an individual?don't u see they are trying to advertise their church? Secondly how come witches don't fall from the sky in Rome where the pope and over 30 cardinals are praying but Naija where a pastor is trying to get more congregation?thirdly nobody said they saw her fall but apparently someone assumed she fell.has it occurred to u guys that this is a mentally ill lady who just lost her way and ended up there? 112. Its possible and I believe the story cos I've seen a similar thing sometime in the late 90's at Broad street. One morning, an old woman was heard crying in the sealed drainage directly behind the UBA house. When people gathered, she confessed that she couldn't get home on time before God showed He is still the same forever. People couldn't lift the cover of the drainage to bring her out until several hours. According to those who heard her confession, she found herself there as something else after their meeting before God turned her back to a human being, hence couldn't come out until people helped her out. Witchcraft and other evil vices do exist. May the Lord never let us or any member of our family experience wickedness of witchcraft and evil ones IJN.

  113. ummm i think you guys are missing the obvious point. look at the woman...she looks like a total broke effing mess. now if witch craft is real why the heck couldn't she use her powers to make herself cute or rich?...but she used it to fly instead? smh are plane tickets really that expensive? is traffic really that bad?....oh Lekki toll gate see what thine hath causeth?!?!! But jokes aside, this woman ain't a witch and in my opinion witchcraft aint real. it's mostly about the human mind, fear, imagination and the placebo effect.

  114. If you asking are there really flying witches, then you should equally ask is there anything called wickedness? Are you still on the fence?

  116. But really, if she fell from the sky - is there an "obioma" ie tailor in the sky that sew the boubou she has on? Secondly, I believe the sky should be clean - y is she dirty as if she crawled out from a gutter?

  117. Please Linda, I want you to know there is. My Yoruba teacher when I was still in secondary school confirmed it. She said she actually saw one herself at her husband's town, saying she was doing laundry when it flew above her, a bird body with a human head and she was told by the creature to take her eyes away, she almost lost it... So ma, there is..!!! Believe me.

  118. I believe this , and have had an experience about a year before this one seeing an elderly woman fall gently from the sky from about 10 feet . As she fell slowly she was horizontal to the ground and was pushing her hands towards the ground as if to get herself up again . It was a very clear and cold day , when she landed I helped her up . She wore a beautiful red flowered dress and had a crystal broach in her ear . She was trying to talk but I could not comprehend what she was saying . I helped her cross the street , it was a very windy cold clear day .....
