2.6 Million Lagos Residents Are Illiterate - Lagos State Government

According to the Special Adviser to Governor Fashola on Education, Mr. Abdul-Fatai Olukoga, only 2.6 million Lagos residents are illiterate. He said a recent survey carried out on the 20,546,999 population in the state revealed that 17,875,889 people are literate while 2,671,110 are illiterate.

He said this on Thursday September 6th during this year's celebration of International Literacy Day in Lagos State.

17.8 million Lagos residents are literate? I don't know how they arrived at this, but it sure sounds good to my ears.

  6. Don't understand d criteria used in grading about 17million lagosians literate, putting into consideration d population of children in dat state. But putting into consideration their behaviour reverse ought to be d case.~BONARIO~says so via NOKIA3310.

  9. Bonario is very funny but I concur. I hate lagos a lot and the reason is cos most of the people behave like animals and exhibit the worst character traits ever. I guess that's why its so common for them to be slumping and dying.
