7 Cameroon athletes go missing from Olympics

Seven Cameroonian athletes who participated in the 2012 London Olympic Games have disappeared from the Olympic Village, this is according to the mission head.

The athletes, five boxers, a swimmer and a footballer, (all pictured above) packed their personal belongings and disappeared when no one was looking. The woman disappeared first, and the others followed. Looking for greener pastures I guess.

  11. Within 3 months after the Olympics, UK Border Agency will flush them out. By January / February 2013, after Olympic and Christmas shopping "tourists" have spent their money, there will be mass deportation from UK.

They might be allowed to stay if they're less than 25 yrs old and "exceptionally gifted" or from North Korea, China or Syria - facing religious or ethnic persecution, etc. .... It's a big mistake they've made. There's no on-going war in Cameroon. I don't see under what criteria they'd apply to remain or how the Home Office would allow them to stay. Election is coming up. They're already in the news and most certainly declared wanted by uk immigration service. It'd take just one angry BMP supporting Tory MP to demand for their removal, and their fate is sealed.

  13. Tx God the Olympics isn't happening in naija. With these atheletes missing, they'd have started silly insinuations about their abduction, or it may have even degenerated to a crisis bw Nigeria & cameroon. Apparently, these guys dnt want to go back home but its unfortunate cos it won't be long before they're caught n deported !

  24. Do u blame them? But depending on their circumstances, they will soon find out that all that Glitters is not Gold! If they have solid dependents that would support them b4 they can stand on their own, they will be fine, but if they wanna hussle on their own, they would quickly find out that they may have been better off in Cameroon! Europe is reeling with economic hardship at d moment! Good luck to them though!

Sharp dudes tired of Africa wahala!..PSSNM

  35. That is not so wise because I trust UK, all measures will be put in place to fish out illegal immigrants and this will affect people that have been living in the UK even long before this time... A whole lot more than 7 people will be deported soon

  41. Funny enough my sister n her husband were actually excited for them,if they'd to come 2 Anerica and this happened, they could easily seek asylum because for Olympians to run away it shows the struggle is real cuz u just don't run for nothing if u a athlete n one who's taken care of.

Now I honestly think they paid off the guy leading the delegation to run, they'd planned this before traveling because u just not run away,u shod have people waiting, after 1 n 2 people dissapeared different days,we'd have already heard of it n they'd ave alarmed someone to enforce security so others don't do it but 7peopleits fishy someone at the head knew or got paid to even take then to London as olympians.you now the struggle is real in the country if the French speaking Cameroonians who run the country run away.

Now even inlindon, with a good argument, they can actually seek asylum because they definitely left knowing they can't e athletes no more.

Now to add most Cameroonians who've never travelled and don't read anything about traveling, they dnt know that their finger prints are taken and with that u can't do anything really especially running and all besides mt f them are not going to be in London, they probably in France or somewhere else, they didn't report meaning they were giving them time to reach their destinations first.

Well may God guide them wherever they are, maybe it was their way of surviving sha.

  42. Well tnk God is not Nigerians....we hv enof bad records already.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I truly feel sorry for them as they cannot work and if they claimed to be refugees, it would not take time to hear their cases and then deport them back to the country they let down. They did not think this through properly.

  59. the lady who ran first was dismissed by the coach before the list of participating athlete was submitted so it is very likely that she bribed someone to get to london because there is no explanation on how someone who is not meant to compete would be in the official delegation and hosted as if she is part of the team.
For the guys they made away a week later that means no one deemed fit to increase security after the lady flew.

  60. Hmmmm....I don laugh comments tire! This news eh..weh! I am a Cameroonian n when I saw this in the news,I was like "Chia! Disgrace oh...!" Then 2mins after, laugh start hold me.

I hope this act if theirs would be worth it.I am just sorry for real athletes who would hsve wanted this chance to represent. If they catch anyone....hmmm....I wonder what tbey will do to thwm uf they sent them back to Cameroon.Papa God! I don't even want to think of it!
