Aston Villa captain, Stiliyan Petrov, diagnosed with acute leukemia

Bulgarian international and Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov, 32, has been diagnosed with acute leukemia. His condition was diagnosed after he developed a fever following a match against Arsenal last Saturday.

Acute leukaemia (cancer of the white blood cells) is fatal if left untreated and the midfielder's condition is said to be progressing rapidly and aggressively and requires immediate treatment. God be with him.

  8. Waoh! That's one hell of a bombshell. Believe me, its the last disease anybody will want to be diagnosed with.

The story of Andy Whitfield of spartacus fame readily comes to mind.

We can only pray God helps him to get lucky and overcome it.
