DEAD!!!! I CANNOT STOP LAUGHING! i just watched Miss USA last night (my state won, woot woot!) and i know a lot of them are artificial but at least it is done right and with a professional touch. so far, from the final 34 in MBGN, it looks as it some girls should still be at the "turning in the application" stage. like i couldnt believe it. MBGN has failed us. it seems every year it gets worse. the last REAL beauty queen that went far was MBGN 2002, Chinenye Ochuba. everyone after that has just been a pretty face and pretty much just there "blah"
when are we gonna get it right?
I guess you gotta blame the Nigerian factor.

i do feel bad for the girl stammering though, that's not cool.
but everyone else, especially the girl with the red shirt, my jaw seriously dropped. i thought people like Mr. Ibu just exaggerate those kind of people in their movies, but DAMN, i guess they really do exist. lolololololol

  7. nothing beats self confidence, even if you fail to be selected don't let anyone take that from you.

  8. this video was beyond embarassing to say the least but you have to praise these girls for having the confidence to show up for the screenings. There were some genuine beauties but I guess they did not impress the organisers- I think the MBGN organisation need to change the way they do things- they should have state competitions rather than screenings and use the competition to weed out the weakest contestants- this is why countries like Venezuela and US are so successful in beauty pageants.

  20. Is this meant to be funny? Yes I laughed but have we considered what it will do to the morale of the girls. For goodness sake they were all nervous and I assume it was the first time for most of them. I think we should stop these jokes at the expense of people.

  32. These people are wicked. Did you see how they zoomed on the hairy legs? lol

    ReplyDelete
  33. mehhn to tell you the truth I didnt even find any of this funny at all....some of these girls should have been turned back from the audition/screening or whatever it was they did. no time.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nothing extraordinary or un-extraordinary here, just girls trying to do something with themselves.

Incidentally, the one who sounded like she's speaking french, actually sounds like someone who has a hearing impediment, and the way she talks is based on physical factors beyond her control , nothing more.

    ReplyDelete
  35. wow!, the chick in red has a speech impediment!, y'all shouldn't laugh at her, biko!

  41. From a comment I read on another blog, it seems as the light skin girl with red shirt has a disability i.e she has a hearing aid in her ear. So she might not be able to speak properly. If that is so, its not cool to have added her and the girl that stammers on the clip. Those are life challenges for some people.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hilarious. I feel so ashamed for them to the point that I had to quit watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I have to add this too they are bunch of morons. God!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. The one who they couldnt figure out what she was saying is wearing a hearing aid. People look closely again! She definitely has a hearing impediment.
Now that I recognize it, its absolutely appalling that MBGN is not able to recognize that and not use her as an example. Same as the one that stammers.

  47. Linda!!!! Afta all the hailing peeps dey throway ya side. Why u remove the video na! i had to go to You tube to watch it. Tooooooooo funnnnnyyyyyy!!!!!!!

Hearing impediment my ass! where is the aid o!?! And even if that were so, it doesn't affect pronunciation which is her real problem.

By the way, this is what she said:

"i wanna esodey d best the supap in me to do is to do d supap out in me bekwas i see dis as a mcklowa becoi i wan thcu be a model to oda girls out there,i wanna grate an avenue for ashivin for accomplishment of thier dreams bcois i knoi that there gcallls that are whickk bet thruid they knewd sponsorship, they nid our suport".

  48. Is it their fault?
I did not find it funny-I found it very pitiful and sad to see and hear pretty girls that cannot speak to safe their face.

But which schools did they go to?Now the organisers themselves are somthingelse to have the guts to broadcast it.

There are a lots of well spoken young Nigerians. It's just a pity this was shared.
