Jason Mraz Won't Wed Fiancee Until Gay Marriage Is Legal

Jason and fiancee Tristan
"I'm Yours" crooner, Jason Mraz, 33, proposed to his 28year old girlfriend, Tristan Prettyman in December 2010. But he says won't marry her until gay marriage becomes legal.

"We both feel that in our engagement, we have a union that's really special and cant be broken. It's a sacred bond. The wedding would be nice for our family, our friends, our community, our moms especially, and so it puts us in the fight. We can't get married until gay marriage is legal and equal. I think giving people the right to marry will be a huge movement in civil rights."

How lame! He must really not want to get married. Stay single darling...until we meet...:-)

  3. Becomes legal where? In the country? In his state? In a state?
If he's waiting for it to become legal nationwide, he's going to wait for a very, very long time, as that would literally require a constitutional amendment, or a supreme court judgement that won't be overturned by Congress.

Either way, they need to go to a state where gay marriage is recognized and call it a day.

Having said that, who the hell is he, and who the heck cares what he thinks about gay or straight marriage?

    Smh

  4. Is this another Rick Martin....

I'd say Jason Mraz is creative with his uncommon excuse. Never heard this one before. He fooled her. Women really do believe anything.

    **Claps for Jason**

What has civil rights or gay rights got to do with his relationship with his girlfriend? Are they telling the public "something"? White lie.

I think the name "Tristan" sounds masculine. "PrettyMan"? Is this a wind up? You won't catch me inside any woman with a name like that. Was "she" born a man?

I have nothing againts gay people, transvestites,...., but if I had sex with someone and later found out they were born a man,... hey! ...., I'd kill myself.

I believe in civil rights and equality. I'm sick and tired of inequalities and discrimination. I won't stop thieving wi-fi on my mobile until gay marriage is legal and equal in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Sudan, and Freedonia.

  7. this was the same trash stuart townsend and charlize theron said until they split up. he should just tell her he's gay and is waiting for the day he can come out and get married all at once.

the illusion of being a celeb = to being important is really alluding him.

  10. All these people shouting gay rights up and down the place. What more do they want? I do not dicrimintae against them but it shldnt be forced down our throats. If he doesn't want to get married, he shldnt. What makes him think he is so improttant that members of d senate wld fall over themselves to pass a bill that wld legalise gay marriages. He shld gaan sleep. Mscheww

  11. He is following brad and angelina, they said the same thing too. make dem wait. why propose to the woman then turn around and say "oh by the way, we ain't getting married until gay people can get married too." I wonder if she accepted after she heard this or before. He should not have proposed, he should have told her, "I will propose WHEN gay people can get married" and see how long she hangs around to wait.
