While unveiling the new project the Ondo State born comic revealed that over the years he had observed a reduction in the attendance of decision makers and audience of high class partaking in comedy and entertainment events. In view of this, AY in conjunction with Sun International, operators of the prestigious Federal Palace Hotel and Casino have teamed up together to put up the monthly show.
The monthly event is expected to kick start on July 24th at the Federal Palace Hotel and Casino. Subsequent editions would hold every second Saturday of the month at the same venue. On the bill for this month’s edition are a-list comedians and musicians including Gordons, Klint Da Drunk, Seyi Law, Banki W, Yemi Sax, Godbless and his Ebony band amongst others.
Following his craving to discover new talents, all editions of the monthly show would begin with a comedy challenge featuring five contestants. The winner goes home with a price and an automatic ticket to take part in all “AY Live” comedy concerts nationwide. It would be recalled that the likes of Seyi Law, Elenu, Emeka Smith, MC Shakara and a host of others were discovered through this same medium.
The monthly “AY’s Open Mic Comedy Club” would be hosted by the award winning comedian and United Nations peace Ambassador AY.
