'Evans is safe in our custody' - Police

The Nigeria police force has denied media reports that notorious kidnapper, Evans, has vanished from police cell. Earlier today, The Sun Newspaper published a report alleging that the kidnapper who was arrested on June 10th in Lagos, was no longer in Lagos police custody and his whereabouts was no longer known.

Denying the reports, the Force spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood who spoke to newsmen this morning, said;

“The media need to avoid stories that could create fear, tension or misrepresentation among the masses. Where did Evans vanish to? That headline was misleading. The suspect and his accomplices are very much in our custody. We are working hard to ensure that justice is served at the end of the day. There are certain information that are not for public consumption to avoid jeopardising investigation or even national security. Evans is with the police. His whereabouts is known but cannot be made public. We are appealing to Nigerians to remain calm and support the police to conclude its investigation.”he said

  12. Lolx I pray o. If Evans settles his dues d will break him out freely and send him to a small African country where no one will know about him. We know d police na dia way. If a muderer will walk away freely from police net after settlement, talk more of evans d kidnapper. I fear nigerian police, Soon the next big story that will happen in this country will now remove people's mind from Evans saga. For example Stories like Bubu has kick Gp tank or Nnamdi Kanu was assassinated by obj. But that's the truth one big news now and Nigerians will forget this Evans saga. I bet u he is in another country chilling out courtesy of Nigerian police. Show me a good nigerian police and I will show u his grave.

  27. Evans is a die hard criminal. He should be prosecuted once the investigation is completed.

  28. What manner of investigation and for how long? The man has confessed to all the crimes even those that were not known so what else are people waiting for...... this is a very serious case that all Nigerians are very much interested in. We do not want to hear stories. He must pay for his atrocities.
