Photos: The deplorable condition of NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Cross River State

This is the current deplorable state of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State. Meanwhile, the Orientation exercise was moved temporarily to Cross River State College of Education (COE), Akampka to give way for the renovation and rehabilitation of the Permanent camp.

However, the Cross River State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Board Chairman of Cross River State, Hon Asu Okang said the move is only temporary as the state government has no intention to move the camp from Obubra LGA.
Comr Okang made this known through a media chat held on Wednesday in Calabar with the Leadership of Obubra Local Government Area.

  5. Why are Nigeria government doing this to their citizens? Imagine the state of an environment you are expected to reside while serving your government. Basic amenities are difficult for the government to provide for the people serving the country, it is quite unfortunate that people have no choice than to condone all this absurd acts of the government. Ordinary nursery schools in Europe look like higher institutions, everything is of high standard. One thing is certain, very soon, there will be "Political and Social Revolution," as people will have no other choice than to fight for their human rights.

  7. Horrible Obubra camp. Their borehole water is the worst. Oily and brownish in color. It almost damaged my skin. Hero Daniels of Linda Ikeji TV can attest to this. 2015/2016 batch A set.

  9. And people keep telling me "camp was fun, byou really missed" and I reply "yes, I missed getting infections from their dirty toilets and sleeping with 39 other girls in a room without proper ventilation, I'm glad I missed it". Not to talk about the mannerless officials and mean soldiers. Don't get me wrong if Nigeria is a country that deserves me taking all this shit, I would take it as a patriotic citizen serving my country. But that 3 weeks for Nigeria??? Hell no! Not worth it.… A corper with impunity and I love it! 😜

  12. I did my camp here, it was horrible. Toilet is bad, no enough bunks and mattress and that red sand is the worst. If soldiers want to punish u, u will be begging not bcus of d punishment but bcus of the white that u will suffer to wash.
