World Health Organization declares Ebola outbreak in DR Congo

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. At least one person has died after contracting the virus in the country's north-east.

A statement by the Congolese Ministry of Health says the case was confirmed from tests on nine people who came down with a hemorrhagic fever in Bas-Uele province in the northeast of the country on or after April 22.
UN confirmed reports say 2 other sufferers have died from the disease.

More than 11,000 people died in the Ebola outbreak in West Africa in 2014-2015, mainly in Nigeria, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Ebola is a deadly hemorrhagic fever transmitted from animals including bats and monkeys. Without preventive measures, the virus can spread quickly between people and is fatal in up to 90 per cent of cases.

    1. Congratulations on Donald Trump's election, unfortunately, there will be no assistance from America when the outbreak fully begins.

  4. Why did they put Nigeria first?from this report you will think more people died in Nigeria than all the other countries,so it's in this case they know we should lead while they follow.I ve had a bitter experience with people from other African countries because am Nigerian so I know what am talking about.

  10. Damn! Ebola returns...

Donald Trump is going to have a perfect excuse to ban Africans from travelling to the US. Recall him asking Obama to do so then.

    1. When short sighted Nigerians were celebrating Donald Trump, this was far from their minds. They were focusing on gays.

Here we have it, when America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold.
