Uber driver destroys female passenger's phone and attempts to assault her physically

An Uber driver called Jude Idoko allegedly tried to physically assault a female passenger after he had broken her phone and it was only the timely intervention of passersby that kept him from carrying out further assault on the woman.

Jude, who drives a Toyota Corolla, had reportedly  picked the woman for a trip to Yaba but during the journey, he demanded that the trip be made "off book" and she should pay N10,000. She refused and he turned aggressive.

He grabbed her phone and bag then tried to hit her. He only stopped because people gathered but by the time he handed over the phone, it was already cracked. The incident was shared on Facebook by a friend of the woman with the hopes of finding the culprit and making sure justice is served.

See the story as told by Famutimi Femi below...

    3. Please don't take this the wrong way, I think your comment is, be it intentional or unintentional, hurtful. If you are wise you will apologize. O don't know you, but I am sure she doesn't like in your house, doesn't depend on you for sustenance and has never asked you to pay for her mobile data subscription.
What if she doesn't have a job at the moment and decides to let off steam here, since when has that become a crime? Are you now LIB police or NIA? Better still, do you have a job or a good man to offer her? If your answer to 90% of this question is NO, then apologize quietly.
Yes, she may not have a job or a man, its ain't no crime, yet non of your goddamn business and gives you no moral right to judge! Be wise, or drown in your pride.

Just saying..cos a lady should not in my opinion be all up on social media commenting at all times..

Sometimes just read and move on..must you always leave a trademark.?
Which in most cases is either mere ignorance or often times "mega" stupidity..

  5. Just look at how the prostitute made the statements as she were talking to animals like herself, We never hear from the driver but I want to assure you that that is not the exact truth.
I knew Nigerian ladies and their bad attitude.....until we hear from the Uber driver I rest my case

    1. You're already calling her a prostitute. Its your mother and sisters that are ashawo. Yes there must be another side to all stories. But there's never a reason to be violent to another human. Most especially you don't allow yourself to loose your temper when you're in the service business. She may be crazy but it was his duty to handle her with utmost respect and love. That's what they customer service

    2. And your misgivings about the authenticity of her story qualifies her as a Prostitute? U've only displayed your crass stupidity here!
Yes I agree there are missing dots, the Uber driver would need to be completely insane to do wat the story suggests but mind your language man!

    6. You r getting all defensive by calling her a prostitute , my instinct tells me that you are the aggressive uncultured driver...Your crude razz unpolished attitude has no place in this 21st century.. F.y.I, if Nigerian men have a good attitude also- they won't make up 40% of jail inmates in almost all the country in the world.

    7. And how do you know she's a prostitute? ?? You're obviously very bitter, take the hate out and just maybe you'd be able to compose better English. Should the hate persist, please kill yourself.

    11. Some men hv viruses eating up their brains. How do explain calling a woman you hv Neva interfaced with a prostitute?? It's a self esteem issues, if you to the root of it. It's something they do all the time. The cab driver, the security man, etc Any slightest argument, they run and call you a prostitute. Even on the phone without seeing you. All these internet fraudsters sent me a fake alert abt something to do with BVN, I called the no, to tell the fool to go find gainful employment, and he calls me a prostitute. Rather keep shut nd show yourself some respect, you begin to vomit rubbish.

  19. He says he wants to do the transaction off the books for what ever reason and she says no. Now, leave the car so he can find someone else she refused. Now you sent one sided news which is typical of Linda's blog especially when it involves women regardless if they've behaved wrongly. The essence of journalism is to report news not to take sides.
In my opinion and according to that chart, if the girl had left the car as he requested, they won't have had issues simple.what if he now drove her away to a place where no one could save her?

  28. Pple shld learn how to bridle their tongue. Talk with some decorum and hit their points intelligently without prejudice or insulting anyone. Even if anyone shld say something that doesn't really make enough sense, do not attack or criticise the person. Instead lay ur own point and move on. They seems to be increasing bandying of words and hates among peeps on this platform. U shld learn not to be sentimental or comment base on personal attachment even though it's obvious a point is brought out truthfully. Linda pls try and streamline pple with anonymous comments cos they're mostly the ones u hide under this prefix to insult pple. If u r sure u know what u r saying let ur identity be known. I wud personally not publish any anonymous comment cos it doesn't even show a true source of information.

  29. The friend who did the booking can lay a complaint about the uber driver on the uber app. There is a place for rating. I think that should be the first step.

Uber ordinarily will follow up with actions on this. Such a horrible experience. I hope she gets justice.

And all these retards , child of anger and frustration, devil's spawn making comments and calling people prostitutes, probably related to the evil uber driver, maybe they planned to share the loot from unsuspecting passengers. I hope both of you are caught.

  31. I once boarded an uber from ikoyi to lawanson in surulere. While on Eko bridge, the driver said to me " ah madam this trip will cost you o" and i was like " why? He said because of traffic" And i told him that i've taken uber from palms to same destination for less than 3k. He said, ah na wa o" It didn't end there, we met a bit of traffic at the constain end of the bridge and he started complaining of leg pain. He almost hit the curb in the process of massaging his foot while driving, and i told him to please take it easy and take me home in one piece and he replied saying, me nko? At that point, i decided to just keep quiet. Getting to stadium, he said uber had terminated the trip and that uber asked him to drop me at the safest destination. He got a call and started screaming at the person at the other end. I just told him to drop me at Shitta and paid him off. Some of those uber drivers are mentally challenged. I can vouch for that lady because i've been a victim.
