Killers of Enugu Deputy Governor's Orderly arrested after fierce gun battle with police

The Enugu State Police Command have arrested the notorious killer gang behind the murder of the Enugu state Deputy Governor Orderly Sgt Helen Sunday.

Late Sunday was shot dead at Transekulu after the Deputy Governor's convoy dropped her close to her residence.

A statement issued by the command today, May 17th, said that the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Anti Kidnapping Squad acting through a well coordinated operation borne out of Intelligence information gathered.

The suspects later identified as EMMANUEL ONYEABOR and KANU OTI were picked a day after the incident at their various hideouts of Lomalinda Independence layout axis and Amorji Nike axis of Abakpa in Enugu East Local Government Area after a serious gun duel which left suspects fatally injured and while some of the gang members escaped with gunshot wounds.

Police has launched a manhunt for them, calling on members of the public and hospital operators about information concerning anyone with wounds suspected to be that of bullet.

"Suspects are however regretting their actions having revealed that their motives was to rob their victims and that the resistant of the deceased brought about their pulling of trigger on her which got her on the head on close range." the statement reads

"It was further gathered that suspects allegedly operating in their Mercedex Benz car, were out on that fateful day for their nefarious activities at a street off Nike lake road Transekulu axis Enugu on 9/5/17 in the night just as the hoodlums suddenly ran into the deceased who was returning from work and robbed her off her bag containing her phone and some amount of money.

"When the deceased allegedly put up resistance, she was instantly fired on close range on the head and later was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and from there, she was confirmed dead.
"Recovered from suspects after engaging them at their hideouts was the deceased infinix phone amongst others"
