Hi-Life Fest: Life Continental Beer continues auditions in Port Harcourt

Life Continental Beer, the brand that promotes progress held its second regional auditions for Hi-Life Fest as it continues its search for the next king of highlife. The event held on May 7, 2017 at the Joseph Yobo Mini Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Registrations and auditions were held from May 1 to May 4 at Veroz Rest and Bar, GRA Phase 2, Port Harcourt, culminating in the semi-finals at the same venue on Friday, May 5.

Speaking at the regional final, John Adesola, Regional Trade Marketing Manager Port Harcourt, Nigerian Breweries Plc, reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to the progress and culture of the people of the South-East.

“Highlife music is an integral part of the rich Igbo culture, this is evidenced in the success of legends like Chief Stephen Oliver De Coque, Celestine Ukwu, Osita Osadebe, Bright Chimezie and many others. This genre of music remains important to our consumers, and the Hi-Life Fest serves to remind them of our brand’s commitment to their lifestyle and progress,” Adesola said.



A team of judges consisting of seasoned music producers and guest personalities witnessed numerous performances while they also engaged the audience in deciding the best Hi-Life acts at the event.


The winner of the auditions in Port Harcourt, Roselyn Akpan expressed her excitement saying: “Highlife music has always being a part of me, and winning the regional competition is basically a dream come true. Life Continental Beer has created a platform for me to express my love for this genre of music and I am grateful for that”.

Roselyn Akpan joins Umunnakwe Nwajiaku, winner from the Owerri regional auditions  as they await winners from other regional auditions in the grand finale in Onitsha where the overall winner will be rewarded with the sum of one million Naira and a one-year recording deal.

Auditions continue in Enugu from May 15 to May 21, followed by auditions in Aba from June 5 to June 11, with the grand finale holding in Onitsha on June 25, 2017.
