Lai Mohammed said Senegal Jollof Rice is the best and Nigerians loose their cool

The world knows that Nigerians don't joke with their Jollof Rice and there's been a raging war of comparison between Nigerian and Ghanaian Jollof for a whie but now there's a new twist.

CNN's Richard Quest recently asked Nigeria's information minister, Lai Mohammed, a simple question, 'Which country makes the best Jollof Rice' and Lai responded saying, 'I'll probably say Senegal'.Nigerians are not fining this funny at all. See their tweets after the cut...

  19. Football originated from England but they are not the best today. Jollof originated from Senegal but Nigeria has the crown. Lia has shown he does not understand his job description. He is met to defend our reputation thereby promoting what he cherries most. Lia has failed woefully.

  20. Distraction for the week;if he had said Nigerian jollof rice, the matter for end there. However, since he mentioned Senegalese jollif rice,it will trend the whole week as a distraction from the failings of Buhari.

    1. Lols.
.a very ugly man with an ugly motive.the question was not where did jollof rice originate from but who makes the best jollof rice? D man is just a big fool.minister of culture and information indeed!

  37. I think he probably said that because the actual origin of jollof rice is from Senegal, not Nigeria or Ghana. Nig and Ghana have just been fighting over supremacy of jollof rice but in truth, it originated from Senegal. Research on that would tell you it's from the word WOLLOF, jollof was coined.

    1. We ate not talking of origination but of taste? D old man simply disappointed this country.he should resign abeg.

    2. Wolof is the tribe. Jollof isctge region they originated from.... I have had a taste of both and I can confidently tell Nigerians that Senegalese chieb (that's their name for what we call jollof rice) is far far better. But then, its all a matter of taste, right?

  53. Get your facts straight before you castigate the man. Most of you fight over nothing. I am a Nigerian that has been to Senegal n U can attest to the fact that they make the best bill of rice. They actually call it chieb. Most of you claim bill of rice as your own, but have you stopped for a minute to ask about the meaning of jollof? For the information of most ignorant cows here, jollof is a region in Senegambia and it is also the name of the tribe that reside in that region. Can any other country claim they make the best gbegeri and Amala? It beats me as to why most Nigerians are soooooo ignorant and petty.
    U rest my case shaaaaaa

  54. Why the hullabaloo, Liar Mohammed was simply doing what he knows best: Telling lies. Nigerians should understand that the man was telling lies as usual.
