I think he probably said that because the actual origin of jollof rice is from Senegal, not Nigeria or Ghana. Nig and Ghana have just been fighting over supremacy of jollof rice but in truth, it originated from Senegal. Research on that would tell you it's from the word WOLLOF, jollof was coined.

DeleteWolof is the tribe. Jollof isctge region they originated from.... I have had a taste of both and I can confidently tell Nigerians that Senegalese chieb (that's their name for what we call jollof rice) is far far better. But then, its all a matter of taste, right?

I am a Nigerian that has been to Senegal n U can attest to the fact that they make the best bill of rice. They actually call it chieb. Most of you claim bill of rice as your own, but have you stopped for a minute to ask about the meaning of jollof? For the information of most ignorant cows here, jollof is a region in Senegambia and it is also the name of the tribe that reside in that region. Can any other country claim they make the best gbegeri and Amala? It beats me as to why most Nigerians are soooooo ignorant and petty.
