Photo: 21 year old Cameroonian who stabbed his boss to death in Lagos arraigned in court

The police in Lagos state yesterday arraigned 21-year-old Cameroonian, Ledjou Kouemou, before an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly stabbing his boss and bride-to-be, Dayo Adeleke, to death at her residence in Parkview estate, Lagos on December 20th.

Ledjou was arraigned on a one count charge of murder. The prosecuting counsel, Chinalu Uwadione told the court that the accused stabbed the deceased because she refused his request for a salary increase.


He said the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011, which attracts death sentence.

The Chief Magistrate, Oluyemisi Adelaja, ordered that he be remanded at the Ikoyi Prisons pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) and adjourned the case till February 24.

    @ Lara Ilara, perhaps you should endeavor to make enquiries about Dayo's character before making such an insensitive statement. FYI, this Camerounian house help had lost his previous job and was lurking around her church for sometime. Out of the goodness of her heart (typical Dayo), she offered him a job as her help. By the way, she did not need the help, just wanted to give the young man a helping hand. After barely 2 months in her employ, he asked for a salary advance of N15k so he could send to his girlfriend in Cameroun and she advised that she did not have cash on her. He got upset by her response and went to get a knife, then stabbed her. This is his statement to the police. He was not maltreated in anyway. Was just plain evil.

    And you madam should try and respect the dead, her bereaved family and friends.
