You are just a shameless coward, animal and devil- Abdulmumin Jibrin to men who beat their wives

The suspended lawmaker took to his twitter handle this morning to call out men who beat their wives for whatever reason. See more of his tweets after the cut...

  5. The scare from the mental cruelty can be as deep and long lasting as wonds as punches or slaps but are often not obvious . The only person that deserve a special place in your life is someone that never made you feel you were a option in theirs, ladies take note. #RealMenDontHitWomen👎🏽

  15. I 100% agree with you my dear law maker. No matter how provoked you are, dont hit a woman. Just walk away from the scene. There are other ways you can deal with a woman. Silence is golden.

  16. Mr Jubrin, this is why you should help us in the national assembly. Pass a bill against domestic violence and jungle justice. I dont know what your fellow law makers are doing there. All they know how to do is budget padding for their own selfish needs. They dont care about the masses. You need to help us pass the bill please

  17. Glad to see that the drive against domestic abuse is gaining more fervour. When women are broken, it continues the cycle, from generations to generations.

These are our mothers, our sisters, daughters, aunties, friends. Women with their own dreams and aspirations, snuffed out, till they become husks of themselves, they become numb and ambivalent to the world.

These are women, who will eventually tell their girl child to be supplicant to abuse, to tolerate the intolerable and grin and bear their pain.

Their sons will feel justified and perpetuate the same, and no one will be none the wiser, because it becomes acceptable.

There are too many broken people in the world, and if only a handful of us, who are lucky to have a voice, to have survived abuse ourselves, can choose to make the buck stop with us, we can change the culture, we can stop these stories from being a constant, we can save a life.

Many people jump on the bandwagon and all why Linda isn't in a relationship, who knows what she's experienced. Who knows what has driven her to, in a sense "marry" her career, and use her blog and philanthropy, to birth children, not from her loins, but from her pursuits.

We all have a story to tell, ask yourself, what part do you play in your story, if you are a victim, don't be ashamed, wear your stripes with pride, and let those who victimise you see you rise and lift others up.

If you are a spectator, shame on you! But if you are a perpetrator woe in you, because if in your story, you can not empathise with pain and suffering, in every moment, then you are probably the cause.

Let's not just stop at fighting domestic abuse, let us direct as much focus on every attitude that is designed to break any of us, from domestic abuse, to sexual discrimination, from child abuse, to child exploitation, from religious oppression to religious exploitation, from mob justice to bullying at school, from ambivalence to complacency! If you show indifference, you are part of the trouble.

Instead of attacking others for different beliefs or ways of life, denounce those who try to deny them their freedom of expression.

Defend the living, serve them, not those who are dead and gone, or aren't there to defend those who need protection the most.

We can all do better. We must! All our lives, depend on it.
