It's the white male that defined races in terms of what is different from white. And while a white person can be victim of racism is he really the person that has to worry about it in this world? If he isn't, how can he then be the person to define it when he has little or no experience of what it means? That is what Chimamanda is saying. But her interlocutor would insist on telling her what racism is. He might even tell her what sexism and misogyny are as well.
