Recession: Those calling for sale of National assets are economic predators and parasites-Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani has described those calling for the sale of some of Nigeria's national assets such as NLNG as economic parasites and predators who want to profit from the current economic recession. On his social media handle, Sani wrote
"The call for the sale of our National assets and investment is condemnable. The proponents are economic predators and parasites who wants to profit from the recession. Nigerians must resist and rise up against this heists and roguery.
They don't want to buy Ajaokuta steel company because it's not profitable;they don't want to invest in solid minerals,Agriculture or science and technology, they don't want to invest in the exploration of oil in Chad basin or Benue trough ;They want to buy NLNG and NNPC".

  1. Cldnt have said it better, someone like Aliko Dangote that can buy vertually the whole Africa thinks he can monoplize Nigeria, look at what is happening in the cement indudtry,it's a monoply market,he wakes up any day either increses the price or rarly reduces it. Even if some assts that are not generating much revenues ought to be sold , definitely to these hungry predators! NLNG still generates much revenue...it's totally not an option to bargain!!!

  5. Saraki and others should take their sub.
Since National Assembly is a national asset, we should start by selling the complex. They've been so unproductive.

  18. That's what Magraete Thatcher did to resurrect Britain from the shackles of poverty;
"I think we have gone through a period when too many children and people have been given to understand "I have a problem, it is the Government's job to cope with it!" or "I have a problem, I will go and get a grant to cope with it!" "I am homeless, the Government must house me!" and so they are casting their problems on society and who is society? There is no such thing! There are individual men and women and there are families and no government can do anything except through people and people look to themselves first. It is our duty to look after ourselves and then also to help look after our neighbour and life is a reciprocal business and people have got the entitlements too much in mind without the obligations."-Thatcher

  19. Exactly. They should buy or invest in other sectors that have been lying fallow for years and leave NLNG and NNPC alone. For extra income, go to http://Youthnize.com/?ref=45988

  20. I like this man so much. I was just thinking about his views before coming here and I was surprised to see that he has made another wonderful statement. He is one of the few people that makes sense in power.

He has been a critique to the government when he had to and also supported them when he had to. Apart from his stance which hardly changes when it comes to El rufai, he normally speaks the truth and very sensible at that.

People should listen more to this man.

  25. This is the problem with Nigeria we act like we are very smart but sometimes we are not if Nigeria government devalued naira when the where told to do it by all financial institutions around the world by now the country would have recovered and not even get worst as it's today. To sale some of Nigeria asset to boost the economy may sound like a bad idea but economical it's good much better than borrowing a lot of money that will make us be in bigger dept. even if we can still sale some of our asset and also borrow money it's not a bad idea as long as the money are used properly to revive the economy.

    1. How would devaluing the currency earlier have saved us? Are you aware that the exchange rate is being driven by supply and demand? And it is because we don't earn enough foreign currency that is why we have scarcity?

So following your logic, how would devaluing earlier have increased supply of dollars?

  36. It's the youths of this country that are lazy minded and allow people like Busola Saraki to continue to ride rough shod on them. A known thief advocating for the sell of the remainder of the National assets that he plundered and the youths just sit lazy, I'm flabbergasted.

Even if there may be any sell, no company should be allowed to buy any, they usually register phony companies that they use to buy them under radar, just like monetization under Obasanjo.

Why people have no grain of conscience in Nigeria beats me, honestly.

  38. Thank God someone still has some common sense in APC. I don't understand why this evil scam change government want to sell our oil assets during recession. It's just like selling your property when you're in serious emergency, people will buy it cheaply because they know you need money .I don't why Dangote and his evil cohorts in APC, want to sell performing assets, if they need to sell anything, it should be the presidential jets, buildings government has not been using and the refineries .These government will eventually frustrate Nigerians, until we start protesting their evil policies.......incompetent clueless mofos

  40. @Nnanna, nna! ijikwa anya gi? hope you are with your senses? Bros, how come you are spreading this kind of 'false doctrine'. biko, how can u sell a viable assets like NLNG(GAS), bros, the inn thing in the world right now. kai! do you now how much we will be making as a country is it is well harnessed? My God, some Nigerian are beginning to think like Mr. president. God forbid!
Ajaokuta steel, as it is now, is even a no, no for me! but nobody wants to buy it yet cos FG, hasn't finish master plan for it to start yielding revenue for the country.
