FG flags-off cattle rail transportation in Zamfara state

The Federal government through the Nigerian Incentive–Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending, (NIRSAL), has flagged-off cattle rail transportation in Zamfara State. A train carrying 500 cows in 15 wagons left Gusau, the state capital, for Lagos in a trip that is expected to take two days. Photo credit: Buhari Sallau

    3. All these people with foolish comments. So what do you all think the cows are coming to do in Lagos? Is it not meat for the people in Lagos? If they provide cheaper means to transport cow to Lagos, the price of meat may get cheaper. Now tell me who is benefiting from that. Some commenters here are childish and almost senseless sha

  13. Can u clueless haters think for once about the lives this initiative will save? About the jobs created however few, about how this will soon be extended to food items and consequently a reduction in trailer induced accidents and reduction in food prices....

  14. This generation must necessarily be the dumbest. Constant clashes btw Fulanis moving cattle from North to South and farmers in the bush, people will complain that the govt is doing nothing about loss of lives and properties. Now the govt flags off rail for cattle to reduce the crises yet the same people are complaining. What is wrong with Nigerian youths for God's sake? Why have we allowed politicians who wine and dine with each other regardless of party or religious affiliations to continue to divide and incite us against each other just because things didn't go their way? Pls note that if this country burns it's you and I that will suffer the consequences!

  15. We just need appreciate and give some support in government good initiative project when we see any, when we had tomatoes ebola we all knew transportation defects contribute to hike in price, so when we are now having cattle rail to ease transport expenses and timely delivery. Simply means an Igbo or Yoruba person can invest heavily on cattle business and make their cool cash. God bless Nigeria

  16. This is more like thinking outside the box...Rail transportation has been revived and it will be the game changer in the area of sustainable mass movement of People and cargo. I expect containers to be moved from Apapa to various locations nationwide and as well as petroleum cargo. God bless Nigeria.
