What I learnt from former President Jonathan - Reno Omokri

Somebody asked me what I gained by working with  Goodluck Jonathan. My response I that I learnt wisdom. I learnt that It is better to lose power and gain honor than to gain power and lose honor. I learnt not defend myself when my enemies falsely accuse me. The same media that gleefully reported their lies will eventually expose them when they see that the public is no longer buying their lies.

Finally, I learnt that the best revenge against those who criticize how you do your job is to step aside and let them have the job and watch them underperform in such a manner until they get so desperate that the only achievements they can boast of are the ones you achieved during your so called underperformance. May God bless Dr. Jonathan for teaching me such wisdom! In Jesus name. #RenosSaturdayNugget

If Remo wants a legend or wise statesman, he should go to south Africa and see where the legend in Mandela relinquished power and allowed others to stand in to contest.

But I guess u prefer the delusion.

  16. Johnathan is a hero. Not because he was the best president, but because he lead and made a very good decision at a critical time. Let's not pretend like his government was the best. The corruption that left the treasury empty is part of Nigeria's problem, n this in no way is an excuse for the Buhari apologist to sit tight n keep blaming Johnathan.

    1. You are part of the social media confusions..Jonathan did not leave an empty treasury...infact d PDP has charged d Buhari Govt. Many times to declare publicly how much Jonathan left in d treasury...don't have figures but even Jonathan and d finance minister had boasted times without number how much they left etc....in is not realistic that Jonathan left empty treasury..stop soiling d man's name

  20. Oil was been sold at a high price during Jonathan'so government. But what did he do? They squandered the money, looted by saying corruption is not stealing. Another thing is Niger Delta never disturbed his regime. Of course they were on his payroll compared to today where these tyrants are now bombing oil blocks but still expecting the govt to keep to its task of providing for all. So Mr Reno doesn't know what he is talking about. He should be ashamed of himself for coming out with such sentiments.
Just imagine where Nigeria will be today if Jonathan was still in power with all the revelation of stolen funds and now the fallen oil price.

Wen ur car has a fault n u take it to the mechanic,u 're doing so cos u believe in his potential, wen u 're having headache n you decided to take paracetamol n u eventually notice it ain't workin out n u decided to visit a doctor who promise to make it disappear n after placing u on drugs n whatsoever only for u to discover things going worst from headache to all sort of symptoms.then deep within u ,u knw ur doctor has failed u aatleast if he won't make ur headache disappear then it shouldn't make it worse .That is the situation of Nigerian n buhari people voted him cos they believe in him N believe he could take them to the promise land n if he couldn't take them forward at least he shouldn't drag them backward. He would av make himself a good leader buh he surrounded himself with the righteous thieves ...I keep telling people that those that we tag as hero of this country who fought for the independent of their people are those who really put us in this trouble cos as at wen we had our independent, Nigeria was not ripe enough buh so many people won't try to see tru this .

  21. In advanced countries, Jonathan & his cohorts would be in jail right now for squandering the resources of a nation in d midst of plenty. He displayed the highest level of foolishness by not saving for the rainy day. He is infact one of the major reasons why we are where we are today.

  23. I am so surprised that in the office politics and ethnicity you can still praise Jonathan who put Nigeria into this economic problems. Where was this MAN when people were looting the treasury? Jonathan refused to save for us when oil was selling for over one hundred Dollars. What can Buhari do when the price of oil is now about thirty Dollars per barrel. Not to talk of the blowing up of pipelines by Niger Delta Avengers. Nigerians are very funny people. We all know the truth but we pretend. I believe strongly in my heart that on the day of judgement God will punish Jonathan for all the problems Nigerians are going through right now. That man should apologise to the Nation.

Incase you have forgotten, it was your same APC gov's like fashola, amaechi and co that asked that the C.M.E then NOI to share the excess crude to states even after she complained and asked that the country save for the rainy day. What did GEJ do? He gave approval to share. Read, listen and gain insight. Scam!! Kontinu!!

Handing over power as a one-time president in Africa to a hostile opposition is iconic. Countries like Burundi,Rwanda, etc are in turmoil because two-term presidents refuse to cede power . let's applaud this pan African per excellence. May our God bless GEJ.

  38. I totally agree with Reno on this one, Nigeria, Africa, and the international community at large without sentiments understand and have also realised the level of competency Jonathan possesses. In as much as he's still alive, he will continue to gain more commendation both home and abroad more than both the present and past presidents of Nigeria.

  40. Do you all realise that GEJ has in recent time continue to get more recognition and praises in the international community more than Pmb. Buhari as an individual might mean well for Nigerians, but he's certainly on the wrong platform. As far as he still surrounds himself with cohorts like tinubu, amechi, ogbe, fash, and Co. I still see no anticorrupt attributes in him. Which means Nigeria is still sailing with different ship on thesame ship.

    Nigerians be wise...

  41. We are talking about Jonathan's 6 or 7yrs in office with no much economic and developmental progress made despite the huge revenues earned from oil. This govt is just 1yr and 3mths old, hence there is no basis for comparism. Let posterity be the judge
