Charly Boy replies Pastor Adeboye..Must You Marry?
Read his piece below...
For the past few days, pastor Adeboye's advice to youths on marriage have been trending all over the place. I suspect that the good pastors yarns tells me that he is a man suspended in time, between old and new school. Don't get it twisted, in as much as I flow with his definition of a good woman, from his statement I see that the obvious way to his heart is through his stomach and of cause through prayers. Good, No wahala.
However our amiable pastor rubs it in when he starts to yarn Akpata, " Marry a warrior, if a girl cannot pray for one hour, don't marry her. Don't marry a girl who is lazy, who cannot cook. She needs to know how to do chores and cook because you cannot afford to eat out at all times"
Hmmm na wa! Really? Seriously?
So if my wife to be can't rant, chant, shout and generally carry on as a prayer warrior, praying for a whole hour, the woman doesn't deserve a wife status. Abi?
Oga pastor, that one na missyarn. Over praying does not make one a better husband or wife, because the world especially Naija is filled with Fake people and "Fakest" pastors. Does a man having a job guarantee that he will make a good husband? Does a woman knowing how to cook guarantee she will make a good wife? Haba.

This is a counter argument thou. A woman knowing how to cook does not guarantee a good marriage but it's always a plus for a woman to know how to cook.
I don't expect a miserable monkey like Charley boy to understand spiritual and moral matters. When Men of God like ADEBOYE speaks on such issues, they speak out of wisdom and experience. They are in the best positions to comment on such cos they get to settle countless numbers of issues arising from today's marriage. And besides he was talking to genuine Christians and not immoral and irresponsible looking people with no authority over them like charlie. Not every message from such men of God is for everybody. So he should take note.

God bless you more Charly but everyone is entitled to their own opinion but as we all know from the Bible that our Lord Jesus never teaches us to marry a prayer warrior or not to marry a lazy woman that cannot cook or a man without a job. My concern is that so many Christians mostly in Nigeria today have been so much brain washed by their pastors that they even preferred to save and invest there monies and resource in the heavenly bank that is been managed by the pastor on earth. If men can marry women that has no job and open stores for them and establishe them into business i don't see any reason why a woman will not do same to a man if she is financially capable. The down side of this pastors advice is huge! Was discusinng Dis matter with my guys and talking from neutral point of view, baba got it wrong. Marriage advice should be simple and non baise. Don't state it like u are god giving 10 commandments. So an unemployed guy cannot marry? Wonder what Melinda gates thought of bill gates before she married is then broke ass who has now turned out to be d richest man in the world. If u want to advice on marrying an unemployed man, put it more subtly by saying that it is better not to marry a lazy man, a lazy man is one who when he is provided with opportunities just plainly doesn't want to work. But an inspiring hard working man may be handicapped for a phase of his life due to financial mistakes,not having the right connects, life's delaying ways. On the side of a good wife must pray and cook. Yes those are nice qualities but my dear what about teaching our Nigerian girls to become self reliant. Marriage is joint virtue not a woman's way to riches, cooking is an attribute that can be learnt, but manners is priceless. A woman who has manners and virtues of a good wife far outplays a wife who cooks well but disrespect and spites her man. Conclusively, baba adeboye is not a god and he too like any man has made a blunder by being stereotyped and one sided.

ReplyDeleteGod bless you more Charly but everyone is entitled to their own opinion but as we all know from the Bible that our Lord Jesus never teaches us to marry a prayer warrior or not to marry a lazy woman that cannot cook or a man without a job. My concern is that so many Christians mostly in Nigeria today have been so much brain washed by their pastors that they even preferred to save and invest there monies and resource in the heavenly bank that is been managed by the pastor on earth. If men can marry women that has no job and open stores for them and establishe them into business i don't see any reason why a woman will not do same to a man if she is financially capable. Cooking and laziness is something you can change in a person so is not a reason not to marry her if you throughly love her. Thanks and more blessing from God

ReplyDeleteThe down side of this pastors advice is huge! Was discusinng Dis matter with my guys and talking from neutral point of view, baba got it wrong. Marriage advice should be simple and non baise. Don't state it like u are god giving 10 commandments. So an unemployed guy cannot marry? Wonder what Melinda gates thought of bill gates before she married is then broke ass who has now turned out to be d richest man in the world. If u want to advice on marrying an unemployed man, put it more subtly by saying that it is better not to marry a lazy man, a lazy man is one who when he is provided with opportunities just plainly doesn't want to work. But an inspiring hard working man may be handicapped for a phase of his life due to financial mistakes,not having the right connects, life's delaying ways. On the side of a good wife must pray and cook. Yes those are nice qualities but my dear what about teaching our Nigerian girls to become self reliant. Marriage is joint virtue not a woman's way to riches, cooking is an attribute that can be learnt, but manners is priceless. A woman who has manners and virtues of a good wife far outplays a wife who cooks well but disrespect and spites her man. Conclusively, baba adeboye is not a god and he too like any man has made a blunder by being stereotyped and one sided.
