Militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, this afternoon asked President Buhari to also call for a referendum on Nigeria just like his British counterpart David Cameron did yesterday June 24th. The group said the referendum would help Nigerians decide if they still wanted to stay together. The stated this in two tweets on their twitter handle. They also released a statement asking President Buhari to visit the Niger Delta region to see for himself the deprivation host communities have suffered in the hands of oil companies that operate in their communities. Read the statement below
The Nigeria President Buhari should visit Ugborodo host to Chevron crude oil Export terminal/EGTL gas plant, Ogulagha host to Shell For cados Crude Oil Export terminal/tank farm, Bonny Island host to Shell Bonny Crude Oil Export terminal/NLNG gas terminal, Brass host to Agip/ENI export terminal, Ibeno host to ExxonMobil Qua Iboe crude export terminal. These are just the export terminals not talking about the numerous oil and gas flow stations and the oil Wells that criss cross the length and breadth of the Niger delta.Mr. President come and see for yourself what the host communities are going through in the hands of Nigeria government and the multinationals.

Ya give us Niger Delta republic.

DeleteTrue
DeleteStern u just dey make sense for the first time
DeleteMy question is what is the state's responsibility in all these? There's NDDC, ministry of niger delta, Federal allocation, 13% derivation, social responsibility by oil companies. What's been done with all these funds. Federal govt does not know ugborodo..the state and local govt does. Lets be fair. The state govts have failed the niger delta region not federal govt.
DeleteI don't understand the gain of Nigeria as one nation.. Except the fact that the Northern states are the sole beneficiary of our oil money. Can't they concentrate on their farming & cattle rearing alone and make something meaningful out of it.. This oil is the only thing holding Nigeria.. Nothing more.. The northerners are enjoying where they did not sow. Let's divide already.. One Nigeria is taking us nowhere coz I personally hate Ndi Hausa with a passion.
DeleteFool which una oil. Check whether Niger delta people include ur state for their own republic. Stay dia and be dreaming the oil. If everybody go their way as this map shows wetin the get?
DeleteCAN U FUCKING IMAGINE THIS SHIT!!!!

And then what! So called biafrans will slaughter Niger deltans while d militants kill themselves and innocent civilians in d battle for oil rich territory. Then after d squander and perhaps genocide, they will blame buhari for the referendum... Was this problem not there when your brother was president or it just started last year? Juveniles!

Foul.
DeleteI am from the Niger Delta and we have elected representatives and traditional rulers. The Avengers cannot usurp those roles just because they have access to guns. They have no locus standi. The Jonathan National Confab is where all the ethnic nationalities in Nigeria stood on matter of referendum, secession etc. The FG must deal with Militants as outlaws and the bandits that they are. I am from the Niger Delta too.
Am also fron ND and i support referendum
DeleteShut up ur mouth u confustionist u are not from the Niger delta u Hausa bastard. It is already done. No more Nigeria. Ur mumu buhari go record gej congratulating him. Lol error of the century. The world heard it mugu olodos

Abiii oooo. All these by force marriage
ReplyDeleteIf things are going bad, why must Nigeria copy. Do you realise a lot of Brits didn't realize what britex was about. They thought it was just about immigration. Only after they result did they start scrambling to understand what EU really is. Who are the Nigerians you want to vote. Those that don't read newspapers or understand economic policies.
ReplyDeleteOga WOLE soyinka do the referendum 1st that's what ppl need n mind u majority carrys the vote
DeleteYes.We really need a referendum in this country. This may not be for the purpose of breakup but to text our oneness. But l doubt if we can win to stay together under this present situation. Let our leaders lead in a way that every Nigerian would have a sense of belonging that this Country is for everyone of us.
ReplyDeleteLet's go for referendum. We in the North will continue to survive. We are tired of this nonsense coming from the SS and SE. Mtchew.
ReplyDeleteI Laf in Spanish! Story for d gods.
DeleteLoool does he know the spelling of referendum, fowl go grow beard first
ReplyDeleteWe can`t pretend to love one another when we don`t, so I agree lets call for a referendum and decide weather we should remain as one Nigeria BUT STILL Y`ALL SHOULD BE VERY CAREFUL BE VERY VERY CAREFUL BE CAREFUL BE VERY VERY VERY CAREFUL..........................

ReplyDeletePlease! please !! Don't abuse an elderly person. Lets pray God will help Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteGbam! Let pmb call for referendum, if we vote to stay together, we stay and vice-versa although it's almost impossible to do that in Africa, much more in Nigeria when a northern man is in charge..
ReplyDeleteNa me talk am!
Long Live Lib!!!
The NIGER DELTA DESTROYERS are not destroying anymore?
ReplyDeleteThought they'd progress to blowing up their homes, streets and everything else in their region.
We are ready to leave Nigeria for Good
ReplyDeleteI agree with them Biko. is becoming too much. let everyone decide which God he/she will worship.
ReplyDeletesays, Genevieve.
The Avengers should change their name to IJAW AVENGERS. They do not represent anyone from Akwa Ibom or Cross River. We do not believe in violence and kidnapping. When Obasanjo imposed the so-called Onshore -Offshore Dichotomy we went to court. It was resolved amicably and maturely. When Atiku Abubakar attempted to hijack some oil fields in Akwa Ibom to assign to Cross River we went to court. At the appropriate time when it becomes necessary for us to secede from Nigeria we know what to do. Ijaw militants cannot speak for Akwa Ibom or any other militant groups. Nor are we interested in Biafra. You cannot force the Federal Government to develop your community if the community leaders continue to embezzle community development funds like the Ijaws constantly do. As for all those squalid communities they exist everywhere in Nigeria even in the cities because people love low life. They love leaving their better villages to go and squat in dirty slums because they love to suffer. Nigerians even in Abuja love to he dirty and settle in slums. That is not the fault of the Oil Companies. I am a Nigerian and I reject low life. You militants love low life that is why you go into the swamps to fight from there and take hostages into the swamps to demand ransom. Remove your masks and come out in the open.
ReplyDeleteDe dude always makes a whole lot of sense. Most times I come to comment session to read his comments, very insightful. Referendum is the only answer. But as God hardened the heart of Pharoah, so has Buhari's heart has been hardened, and we know the results.
ReplyDeleteThe fulani cow no go gre
ReplyDeleteDo know that majority of these militants are graduate from the south south. Lack of jobs and empowerment led to this militancy. If NDA were like ISIL many graduate would have voluntary join them. But what do I know. NDA incase you need someone with a better understanding about oil and gas and earth call on me I don't charge much. BSC Geology (Delsu) BSC Mathematics (Fupre). Linda post my comment ooo
ReplyDeleteSo what happened to the national conference that Jonathan spent billions of naira on? Was it spent do that Niger Delta Avengers should take over the oil fields and terrorize Nigeria or do that Nnamdi Kanu can smuggle in Radio Biafra? If Niger Deltans want to hold referendum we can do so without guns, not by blowing up pipelines and wellheads. We have Local Government representatives from village heads to clan heads to councillors to elected chairmen. We also have state houses of assembly as well ad governors. We have no militants unless terrorists and kidnappers who no one had elected. So Niger Delta Avengers are illegal outlaws. And for that matter it is not a legality to be called a Militant. That is not an occupation or a skill. As a Niger Deltan myself I have no pride in being associated with militancy. The South South wanted to have a President. We had one and he enjoyed the full support of Nigerians. He was voted out democratically not because he was from the Niger Delta but because he underperformed. Anyone who is given a chance and he underperforms should be voted out. Or are we going to day that if Buhari underperforms and is voted out in 2019 then Arewa should go and form Arewa Avengers? So Niger Deltans have absolutely nothing to do with the do called Avengers. Period. They should go and hold Jonathan for his underdevelopment of and noninvestmemt in Ijawland and the Niger Delta.
ReplyDeleteAs Nigeria they sweet you my dear use any grammar it makes no sense to us why go angry over something that will not affect your region biko he no go affect ur village ur lga ur state why disturb no be by force to complain that we are one while other section say no
DeleteI laugh in French, there will be no more Niger Delta if that happens.. that region is full of greedy folks.. they will so kill themselves, put their citizens in severe poverty. All the money their leaders get from all multinational companies, where are they? Even the smallest Chief in Niger Delta has a property in Dubai while their citizens are suffering and you are talking of referendum.i bet you don't know what referendum means.
ReplyDeleteDid you (NDA) ask for a referendum before engaging in oil pipe bombings?
ReplyDeletebasically they are right about the oil catastrophe but we need to say one for Nigeria to move forward. Buhari should resolve this quickly and not behave like a slug.
ReplyDeletethese people don't know that the fire they're playing with will someday burn them!
ReplyDeleteyes please, give dem Creek Republic jor! And Biafra too. Let them fight their tribal wars over there. And let them get the hell out of our region cos we really dont need them. Tired of these fools!
ReplyDeleteI dont even think the power to make Nigeria to be seperated should be placed in the hands of its poorly educated citizens. Our decisions have been influenced by anger and innapropriate calculations. Talking about voting in referendums? Is it not us all that have been voting in all our failure presidents? Now you want to take it to this magnitude where people will vote out of anger and short sightedness? Then we dance to the result of our anger in the future? We are not fit to make dat decision right now. Nigerian citizens are too noisy, never firmly rooted in our decisions, always being carried away by what's in front of us, short sighted, distracted by hardships and easily swayed by meagre things. Therefore, let a panel of informed people continue the process of solving our problem. Not leaving it to the other citizens who know nothing. Am sure if buhari leaves, we would still vote in another funny person. cuz this same citizens of Nigeria that are complaining today will have their pockets greased, WITH CHEAP FUNDS.. #smh
