According to the Nation, Justice Steven Evoh Chukwu of the court’s Abuja division died early Wednesday, June in an hospital in Garki, Abuja, after a brief illness. Although the court’s management failed to issue a formal statement about judge’s death, many officials of the court confirmed the development.
When The Nation visited the deceased judge’s courtroom, Court 9, located on the 4th floor of the courthouse, the officials wore mournful look. The court had not sat for some time now.
Late Justice Chukwu, until his death, was also handling the trial of former officials of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Sani Lulu, Taiwo Ogunjobi, and others.

The last time I called him he asked me to come to his office but I couldn't go coz I had a busy schedule, I called him bk he said he was gonna call me bk which he did n we resheduled to see two days after but I called him n he didn't pick only for me to hear that he is died. Death ur so wicked!!! I Stl check u on whastapp to see when u ll b online or chat me n also check my phone to see when u will call. U were such a funny and strict man. He can shout but never be scared of him. I will surely miss you my dear judge. Rest in peace my Lord. U will be greatly missed. *tears*
