Bill Gates launches chicken programme to help the poor in Africa

Microsoft founder, Bill Gates who is famous for his philanthropic ventures especially in Africa has launched a novel programme to help Africa's poor and it involves plenty of chicken.
The billionaire philanthropist says raising and selling the birds can be efficient to tackle extreme poverty and to this end, he has promised to donate 100,000 chickens.

Based on his theory, farmer breeding five hens could earn more than $1,000 a year about $300 more than the poverty line. He added that the goal was to help 30% of the rural families in sub-Saharan Africa raise improved breeds of vaccinated chickens, up from the current 5%.

At the launch of the campaign in New York, Mr Gates said:
"These chickens are multiplying on an ongoing basis so there's no investment that has a return percentage anything like being able to breed chickens."

  6. Commendable effort but can the authorities do their best to ensure those chickens are really safe for consumption? Genetically modified foods are killing thousands by the day! God safe Africa.

    1. Hmm! I wish the authorities would do the needful but you know these GMO guys are super rich and can bribe their way through. We should do our part and educate our local farmers about these GMO...they know nothing about it at all. God bless Africa

  9. This is another population reduction trick by the world elite. These chickens are Genetically modified species which are known not to be save for human consumptions because they cause terminal diseases.

Bill has a large share in a GMO company called Monsanto. He has been infecting the young and the innocent children through the vaccines they share. Africa say no to there aids. There is always an ulterior motive behind any help they render. #BewiseAfrican. I doubt if Linda will make this surface.

    2. Correct. They won't explain to the poor farmers how these chickens and other Genetically Modified crops/orgnisms cause cancer and other terminal diseases. Africans should beware of such kindness. Oyibo no dey give you anything for free. Either they've manufactured drugs for the diseases wey they done breed inside lab and want to market those drugs thereby injecting the virus into their chicken and shipping them down here for experiment. We need to create awareness oo. These people are fraudulent. GMO is in Nigeria already. They've brought their useless corn and cotton seed into our country (Monsanto) very harmful.

Let me tell you, their plan is to make Africa suffer all manner of diseases like Cancer. Have you wondered why cancer has become like malaria in Nigeria? Why would chickens produce faster than their growth rate. Africa wake up and consume your local

  21. And dont forget there is a reason why American chicken has no taste. Please Nigerians, dont allow poverty blind you. Open ya eyes well well and hold public debates so that experts like us can contribute. They like to take all of you into an exec office and discuss "boss to boss" so that public opinion wont hold sway.

  24. I wont eat anything from Bill Gates. His father was a proponent of depopulation agenda. Bill Gates followed his foostep. Money? Yes. But anything edible. Hell no. Sterility is knocking. Poor Nigerians and Africans. Once you are rich, you can never do wrong in their eyes. Poverty mentality.
