NFF to release Mikel Obi and Ahmed Musa for Joseph Yobo's testimonial game in Uyo

The Nigerian Football Federation, in its own way of supporting Joseph Yobo in his upcoming testimonial have granted Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi and his assistant Ahmed Musa permission to play in the game billed for the Akwa Ibom State capital, Uyo on Friday, 27th May.

Joseph Yobo has contacted so many former and current world football stars including Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o and Yaya Toure to play in his testimonial, and the NFF with a friendly to play within the same period, have granted Mikel and Musa permission to show support to one of Africa's best defenders during his prime.

“The NFF leadership has decided that Mikel (Obi) and (Ahmed) Musa should be excused from the two friendly matches in Europe so that they can honour Joseph Yobo, who is having his testimonial game on the same Friday, 27th May that we are playing Mali in Rouen, France. “The two players have been communicated accordingly,” NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, yesterday.
