'It's not by force to get married or stay married' - Waje speaks on woman beaten to death by her husband

Singer Waje took to her IG page to react to the story of a young mother of two, Ronke Shonde,  who was killed by her husband in Lagos yesterday May 6th. Waje wrote;
"What prompts a man to beat a woman to death? His wife, someone he pledged to care for........ Shame shame shame. It's not by force to get married, stay married, especially when you are with a degenerated monster in human form. Pls open your eyes and know who you are saying yes to ladies and gentlemen. God forbid! Picture perfect can mean #earlyjourneytothegrave #hellonearth#weneedmoreMEN!! Too many old babies with anger issues! Society doesn't care about you so care about yourself!"

    1. now most single ladies are gonna use these as an excuse to justify themselves, marriage is a beatiful ting when u are with d right one even thou some are bad just like mine but I still beleive in marriage and am still gonna remarry, that some end up bad does not mean all marriages are bad and is not an excuse for being single, I still see lots of happy and successful marriages around me even though some are bad is everywhere so don't condemned d good ones jist becos u saw some few bad ones.

    8. Don't blame the victim. Unless you have been married, you can never appreciate how isolating it can be.

First you bring everyone to witness your union, then when cracks start to show and you reach out, everyone, including your family encourage you to stay.

You feel responsible for your unhappiness, you're alone, if you have kids you start to think of that, if you don't have kids, they'll tell you kids will make things better, until the day irrecoverable damages are done, a woman in a domestically volatile relationship is in a constant state of isolation, danger and fear.

More support should be created for refuge and counselling. You will not find support with your family and friends, everyone of them is waiting for a car crash to happen, since you insulted them by inviting them to come and watch you begin your happily ever after.

    9. Don't get it twisted, marriage is a beautiful thing. God ordained marriage but one need to seek Him for the right partner.

  2. My dear keep telling them only if they will hear.
    Not by force at all.
Marriage is not the key of heaven or happiness.
Fools will not believe her but i do.
A lot of bitches are in there husbands house suffering but will come to social media to show us there family pictures as if they happy.
95 percent marriages are hotter than hell but u will not know only if they tell u.

  9. RIP Ronke Shonde #SaynoToDomesticAbuse....I just pray the mad husband get served real hot too.
OMG! Some people are damn so evil and heartless. Read the heart-wrenching story of a 17-year-old pregnant Nigerian sex-slave in Gauteng Province of South Africa.

Ugo (Not real name), was taken to South-Africa aged 13, after the demise of her mother. She thought her dream had come true and hoped for a better life. But from the very day she walked through immigration at OR Tambo international airport her world began to gradully fall apart.

The man she had always looked up to as her father turned her into a sex-slave. He did not only sexually harrass her alone, but invite his slow friends to also have a go and they even made videos of the constant abuse of the teenage girl.

The bubble burst, when she became pregnant and neighbours who had always been suspicious of the illicit affair and illegal activities reported to Police that they heard someone crying all night long.

The case is already in court and the videos found on the step-father's laptop is being used as evidence to prosecute the crazy paedophile..

Excerpts from the interview with Ugo below:

"I came to South Africa around February 2012 with my Daddy, after my mummy died while giving birth in Lagos. On the night of our arrival, Daddy bought fast food for us at KFC and when we got home he also gave me juice. when i woke up in the morning i found out i couldn't move my legs and there's a little blood stain in my private part. I also noticed Daddy was sleeping beside me Unclad. I touched my private part and felt a very sharp pain".

  13. There is a common adage that say. If u think of the itching of the wound. We will scratch to the bone. The fact still remain that we can say because it went bad for some pple it will not be good in another quarters. One major problem we blacks have is we never solve problem we compound it. Let each and every one of us go back to our different home and start training those boys now instead of waiting till the time the society will impact abnormality in them. If u like start arguing. Stripes has said his own.

  15. That's what happens when you are saddled in a deadly marriage because of what the society will say or what will happen to your kids... Any form of abuse should not be covered till you lose your sanity or life...

  16. If u Re not married...go n get married is all u hear.. Wen u are married with abusive spouse...marriage is not a must ...if u leave a abusive marriage... U can't keep a home.. Society#

  19. Please..everyone is now a marriage counsellor..No sane man wakes up in the morning with plans to kill his wife..No one was with them in that house..No one knows what happened that morning..No one should use this story to console his/her self or feel your boring single life is better than hers..No woman should be abused physically, emotionally or otherwise..no man should be abused or pushed to his limit..We should all pray for God to give us the wisdom to make good choices when it comes to choosing our life spouses if we care to allow him and also the wisdom to be good partners to our spouses..The devil hasn't stopped killing, stealing and destroying.destroying . There are good men out there ladies be patient and responsible enough for them to find you.

  25. Madam, please go and marry. Pray God gives you a good husband before you begin to drag boyfriend with small girls.

It's really horrible for a man to kill his wife, there's no excuse for that. That's why people need to be more prayerful because the devil might just make you loose your temper once and thats it.

  27. Domestic violence is Evil. But again, like a lot of people have said, Marriage is not by force. I don't know this couple but what I want to tell single ladies is this, if you know you don't have it in you to be submissive to a man or you have a razor edged tongue, RUN far Away from Marriage. Not all men that have record of domestic violence are violent people, many have been pushed to the wall and what they have bottled inside could no longer hold. So, most time, domestic violence is as a result of ACTION and an Unequal REACTION. RIP, Ronke

  28. Ladies pls don't stay in an abusive relationship or marriage, your life is very important, and you guys should pls stop using this event to label all men as monsters just to make yourselves feel better about your previous bad decisions, there are thousands of good men out there that will never ever raise their hands on a woman, yes there are monsters too, ladies are very sensitive, sometimes they know the guy cld be a monster yet they marry him and now come and play the victim card on LIB, marry good guy....u refused, but get attracted to the monsters

  31. It's a very sad situation but remember the lawyer that stabed her husband to death nobody said marriage is not by force even peeps were saying she must have been under spell or something now it's the other way round all hell don break loose

  32. Can people stop making being single like its a plaque. It's better to be alive than to die early just to be Mrs. Most of you saying "go and marry" wish you were still single a abeg. Clear road make we by hear word. True talk Waje.

  33. What of the woman that stabbed het husband to death sometime ago? It's all round not just only men pls

    ReplyDelete
  34. Its not by force truly I agree with Waje. Her status doesn't not been she cant make a valid contribution. I agree with her and am at this point myself. Love should inspire and never hurt you. People from houses with a history of verbal and physical abuse will continue the trend. You can stop the cycle. How? Talk to them . Show them and everyone around the truth and how their behavior changes you. Yes the first risk is death but then now its no longer just you fighting the battle. A team of prayers is also good. God sends us all partners sometimes we choose who we want . Everyone is redeemable

  35. Yeah we all saw the news about the man that killed his wife.
If you people are not tired of the same song and dance, I am.
Nobody can want you to live more than you do.
But just in case the life don tire you and you choose death by domestic violence, be kind enough to insist beforehand that Agoyin women prepare the jollof rice at your funeral. We can't come and be crying our token tears and nothing to chop. That would be disrespectful.

  36. Well..I'm sure she was not forced into getting married, this our generation open eye small n when we see good things we kinda go for it, so I'm also sure she saw a good side of him while they were courting, and it is so sad that a beautiful mother and wife had to lose her life this way. Please we should remember that the institution of marriage is about patience, kindness, selflessness ,respect, having the love of God and not being in competition with each other because you guys are one!!!

Now, no offense o!!! my own thing is why some singles feels the need to try an start throwing shades about this beautiful thing that has been ordained by God. If you are not in it or has never been in it, you should not have a say..point,blank,period. To all our young men and women who r still in the game, please DO NOT be discouraged n take your time when choosing the right partner.
