Briefing his colleagues and presenting a petition by the assaulted lawmaker at yesterday's plenary, the House of Representatives Minority Leader, Leo Ogor, said Mkrakpor who represents Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State, was on her way out of the complex and attempted to overtake the 20-car convoy of the prison boss when she was stopped and assaulted by one of his aides
“They blocked her car, and started bashing her car. When she wound down the windows, an aide slapped her in the face. The CG sat in the comfort of his car while this happened,” Ogor narrated.Also speaking, the Majority Leader of the house, Femi Gbajabiamila, said Mrakpor called him and was crying after she was assaulted.
The house after its deliberations, resolved to summon the Prison boss over the matter.
Meanwhile the prison authority says it has begun investigations into the said assault on the female lawmaker. Spokesperson of the Nigerian Prison Service, Francis Enobore, said
“We were all present at the National Assembly on Wednesday with the CG. He had a long convoy, but we all left the place together at the same time and while we were at the place, there was no fight or quarrel between any of our personnel and anyone around. As we all left together with the CG, it is not possible for anyone of us to have jumped down from the convoy and went back to the complex to fight anybody.”He said the prison boss has constituted a panel of inquiry into the alleged assault.

Imagine the impetus of a common Prisons Controller-General who is abstractly also a prisoner in disguise if we should go by the lyrics of my sister ASA that stated clearly the fact that A jailer is also a prisoner.

This is nemesis catchin up with her. Years back, she slapped a man in Asaba. His name is Halim, and he was a Local Government chairman. Im not in support of domestic violence on women at all, But im very sure if she were in the comptroller's shoes, she would have done worse. The places Nigerians should be putting their eyes and shouting thief thief, we won't look there. We'll be busy looking at lawmakers that make kobos on the Naira.
All these parastatals you need the see the way their DG's grandstand when they come for budget defense at the National Assembly. The Chief of Fire Service will show up in a long convoy, prisons very long convoy, civil defense, immigration, FRSC and all those export & marine related parastatals. What's the cost of maintaining & fueling those vehicles daily? What exactly are they doing that they need that amount of cars & people in their convoy?
There are ways to save money in this country no matter how small, with time kobos build up to a Naira. This country has gone to shit.... (In my own opinion, I believe it's because we've allowed these Heads of parastatals to continue with their grandstanding & excessive behaviors, that a bloody aide will think his "Oga" is more important than a convoy-less Lawmaker).
