Photo of two babies sharing one Incubator at a general hospital in Lagos
The photo, shared on social media, shows two premature babies in an incubator at the Agege General Hospital in Lagos. Is this normal? Photo credit: @mcchegzy
Exactly!!!!! The babies are not prematured. Can't they see how big they are. What are those type of baby looking for in the incubator. There is something wrong somewhere...
So you telling me they should leave one to die if their is no space to accommodate one of them let's praise Lagos state government when it comes to health issue they have the best general hospital through out the federation
Welcome to Nigeria a place were wrong is made right and right is made wrong. A place were what is evil is seen as noting.it is wrong i shut my mouth when i saw agege hospital i say ye that is the kind of place u will see this yoruba hospital are funny as terrorist buhari.

hmmmmmmm infection prevention and control does not permit this, but of course it's nija anything goes, in a country where we hear of billions of naija looted we can't afford such basic necessity. sad very sad
It's not normal, every baby is meant to have one. Even twins are put in separate incubators which are then put close to each other. Naija Na wa o, what won't someone see
Doesn't look too good, but if there's a shortage of incubators what else can hospital staff do? This is an extraordinary measure to save the babies' lives.
So the suffering in this country begins from birth?these tots have barely just left the vagina and already they're facing nigerian hardship...at least can newborn babies be treated well in this country?!wtf is sharing incubator?
It is definitely abnormal but the best in the circumstances. There are definitely not enough incubators available for the population and if they insist on one child per incubator the number of children being turned away will be higher and when there are casualties people will come online and spew all kinds of invectives again the medical personnel.
Its because of family business like this in NNPC that our hospitals lack basic facilities Dumebi Kachikwu Builds N3.4 Billion Mansion in Asokoro. Buys Property in Dubai and London
Things are looking up for Dumebi Kachikwu. Less than eight months after his brother was appointed Group Managing Director of NNPC, the Abuja-based business man is wrapping up constructions of his mansion in Asokoro.
Located along Nelson Mandela Street, the mansion reportedly hosts 8 bedroom, 13 toilets, 4 living rooms, hardwood flooring a luxurious man cave in the basement, a family movie theatre and an indoor heated swimming pool. Invitations for the house warming party are currently being printed, with each invite reportedly worth 35,000 naira.
Look, all these stuff are totally unnecessary, if you don't want your premature baby sharing an incubator, simply move on. Am sure the private hospitals in Lag ve enough empty incubators, ignorant fools will always complain about health facilities. Yet none of their engineers ever developed anything, common roads cannot be made durable. Telecom industry run by Nigeria are in shambles yet they'll come on social media to complain about underfunded and underpaid hospitals and doctors. Una for turn the doctors to incubators. Now one young doctor will read ur stupid blog and turn baq a premature baby because he doesn't want the public to complain about his work. Ignorant fools!
Public health facilities in the country are generally overstretched. If only our politicians can donate one incubator things will gradually get better.
I remember when I had to take my daughter to lasuth for treatment, she had to share phototheraphy light wit another baby to treat jaundice, it was si bad.
make sure your picture is not fake before posting. babies in incubators are not usually dressed and those babies don't look like preemies. then is it ethical for you to put someone's children's pictures on the internet without permission. Did the parents grant permission. Bloggers need to be careful
These babies look at least 4 week old and in no way premature. No doctor anywhere in Nigeria will nurse these babies in incubator let alone putting two babies cos there àre always shortage of incubators for the premature. This would then appear as abuse of scarce facilities. My submission is that parents of these babies place them there by themselves while health workers weren't looking just to rubbish Nigeria health system. Who knows if the incubator is a faulty one placed òn the corridor. Madam, pls always verify b4 posting and hesitate a bit b4 running down our health sector. Nigeria doctors are highly professional, bad eggs are everywhere tho.
Linda, that is what they have. The person that posted it in the first place should be arrested . Would they rather have their child outside the incubator to die? Linda, you can decide to make incubator donations to the hospitals afterall God don bless you to bless your environment.
