Buhari says Nigeria has joined the Islamic coalition against terror

President Buhari during his recent interview with Al Jazeerah, said Nigeria has joined the Islamic Coalition against terrorism being championed by Saudi Arabia.
“We are part of it because we’ve got terrorists in Nigeria that everybody knows which claim that they are Islamic. So, if there’s an Islamic coalition to fight terrorism, Nigeria will be part of it because we are casualties of Islamic terrorism,” he said
When asked whether Nigeria joined the coalition during his meeting with King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia recently, Buhari said “yes.”
Buhari queried the position of some Christians in Nigeria who have opposed Nigeria joining the coalition. He wondered why such Christians had not gone to fight Boko Haram in the North or militants in the South.
“Why can’t those Christians that complained go and fight terrorism in Nigeria or fight the militancy in the South. It’s Nigeria that matters, not the opinion of some religious bigots,” he said
On whether he was trying to change the religious identity of the country, Buhari noted: “How can I change the religious identity of Nigeria? No religion advocates hurting the innocent and just because the Muslims are the ones that claim to be Boko Haram and they are killing innocent people whether in the church, in the bus or in the market place, then I will just sit and look at them because I too am a Muslim? Islam is against injustice in any form.”he said

  14. Crazy clueless dude! I hope he's not planning to Islamise Nigeria as alleged severally. We will sure resist such move, Nigeria is a secular state, not even Buhari or anyone can change that. If he wants Islamisation, they should divide the country and practice their Islam in the North.

  17. I am Igbo but I strongly supported the candidacy of Buhari in the last election. It is a decision that I now regret after watching this his interview with aljazeera. This is one interview that really brought him out as an unrepentant dictator and a man with no unifying qualities to lead a diverse country as Nigeria. AmongSt other things, the way he turned down the interviewers offer to be show a video clip of biafra crackdown left me stunned. His response that followed was even more stunning. For him, there is no point meeting biafra agitators to address their grievances but he has expressed readiness to meet and negotiate with Boko Haram. He also appeared to have said to Christian to go to hell when asked about joining Islamic coalition against terrorism. It wasn't his decision to join that was the issue but the manner in which he responded to the opposition to the decision. Ngige and Co should now do the needful and resign from his cabinet.

  49. I know it will come to this mess. When this dullard president visited Saudi Arabia and Qatar and cunningly came back to Nigeria to receive Turkish president, I suspected some covert arrangement among these notorious ISIS supporters. Again, it is becoming clearer that the killing of 300 Shiite Muslims in Zaria is a covert operation to spite Iran. Let us know that the Chinese, Europeans (Germans) and Russians are watching. Nigeria's Government should not send any soldier to Syria to topple Assad because this is what all these is about. We will pay dearly....

If Turkey, a nation of 99% Christians could be islamized to 96% Islam overnight through violence then how much more Nigeria, the Islamic nation isn't joking about islamizing Nigeria, it's a serious agenda! Africa is the only continent with an Islamic majority, there is a serious mission to islamise the continent starting from the most populous African nation, Nigeria, like I said earlier on, Google the abuja declaration of 1989…

God guide, guard and direct the president.
