  11. I know some people would be so happy things are going badly in the country...You know those people. They have been praying since Buhari won for things to be bad. Anyway, I know in a few months things will get better than they are now. People should also know that Nigeria is not the only oil producing country affected by the crash in oil price. Venezuelan's Bolivar went from a dollar to 150 Bolivars to a dollar to 1,000 Bolivars within twelve months. I know Nigeria's case is bad, but it is not the worst.

  18. Yes, the economy is bahd..but in all fairness it's not peculiar to naija alone: let's give govt some break pls: u sell a commodity for up to 150 dollar in d past and currently sell same for 30 dollar: d@ alone is a strain on ur margin as an entrepreneur : worst of it all is d fact dat u don't even have control over how much u should sell.... in simple terms: crude price is on a steep nose-dive, is a leading exporter of nothing, we manufacture virtually nothing, our economic structures and institutions is marred with corruption...the pressure on the NAIRA is a certainty....oh my: bring obama as ur president we can only hope it gets better

    1. U just dey speak grammar, biko call a spade a spade. Buhari is incompetent. Yes there's a lot of things going on in the global market but that's not the reason why the exchange rate should be like this. It's really crazy.

    2. @MR NI'I, save your breath, the ones on this blog are beyond redemption. Even if GEJ had won a re-election, thing would probably have been worse, remember NOI asked us to brace up for a tough 2016. The wailers have never heard that it's always darkest before dawn. Nigeria's dawn is around the corner. Peace!

  19. It really worse on some Nigerians more than just miraculous rise in dollar. A village(MOSAFEJO) in Lagos state with over 4000 people, over 30 houses, abt hundred shops was demolished by Lagos state government. A landlord or landlady are now homeless. What What change.

  28. Many of these LIBers do type non-sense from their keyboards. Many need real education. Microeconomics is not social media where everyone say whatever they like. What Nigeria is facing now is the results of many years of wastages, plundering of foreign reserves and import-oriented economy. To Yemi Alade, go and pray that the Naira will not exchange @N700/$!

  30. All the people that voted for this man as president ( someone that doesn't even have the capacity to manage a Coca Cola company neither would they employed him as a manager cos he lack the capacity and required documents still he was voted to preside over a whole country ) this is the output of their input, the country is facing hyperinflation, perhaps recession as a result of the sherif outdated knowledge rather scant understanding of prevailing issues in the country he's expecting miracles without working, Nigerians are in for a very long ride and the masses would suffer this time cos the change agents don't give a F**k.

  31. My dear change is here for all of you that voted for it.

  32. Its not the fault of the present Gov that cause the change in currency but the dependence in oil, mass looting of public funds and not creating enabling environment in the past to create a second source of revenue for the country in the past.

People should start producing In Nigeria and Nigerians should buy own made goods. enough of the continuous dependence on foreign goods. Produce in Nigeria, buy Nigeria.

Buhari is a forward thinking President with a vision. Can't say same about his predecessor. Linda, you can Gbam to this or eat my comment as usual.

Didnt buhari promise 1$ to 1naira whatever magic he promised during the campaign he should better start performing now even if u want to better the economy is it by crumbling it first and grinding all activities to a halt? Even to choose ministers took him 6months n u r there talking crap do u know d damage that has caused alone? Ignorant mofo who says we dont want to produce? Im a local manufacturer i went to d banks several times for loans for my very viable buisness but was turned down bit they dole the lons to people who want to buy cars or import petroleum products because they r lookig for quick turnaround better educate urself rubbish. Anericans are the highest importers of consumer goods but still their currency is a world benchmark exonomics isn't about 1+1 sit down n read a book

  36. Ignorance is a great disease. Before you condemn and criticise, find out for the 'why'. Why is dollar appreciating against the Naira? Understanding of Micro Economics will help out. It is pathetic that we don't have a financially literate society. Even 'Yemi Alade' doesn't understand simple Economics, ooh! She is just a musician.

  39. @sisyemi! The naira is falling against the Dollar, not rising. Well, most tyms I Just sit down and try to think on my own and I advice everyone to do the same. Why should you allow your state of ur economy be determined by anoda country's currency. How long do u want to continue to depend on the Dollar. Whatever makes u and I need the Dollar, can be produced here I can assure u. Just give Aba some time, they will work out something. And If u need the Dollar genuinely, walk into CBN. We. Must first understand the difference btw Parallel market rate(black market) and the official rate. Why r u worried about the parallel market yemi? Let's look inwards and dig deep, Nigeria can Make it on its own without the Dollar, we may suffer now, but it will work 4 our own good.
