Supreme court upholds Rev. Kings death sentence

The Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence handed down the Senior Pastor of the Christian Praying Assembly, Lagos, Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo aka Reverend King by the Lagos state Court of Appeal. Reverend King had approached the apex court after the Lagos state Court of Appeal on January 11th 2007 upheld the ruling of the state High court sentencing him to death by hanging for the murder of one of his church members, Ann Uzoh on August 2nd 2006.

King had set seven members of his church on fire for indulging in fornication. Ann sustained serious injuries and died in the process.

  57. I saw how some of this charlatan's followers got down on their knees and crawled to him during one of his court appearances. At this juncture, we need to regulate the effect of these darned churches on the mass of Nigerians. Pple believe more in miracles than in hard work. You see posters and billboards advertising church programs like God's blessings is some commodity you procure with money. Even the pple that brought all these religions to us marvel at our foolishness.

  78. Reading ppls comments am disappointed nigerians think like uncivilized ppl yet we re praying for d development of our nation nd complain of racial discrimination. Asking for d death of someone no matter his offence is wrong. D essence of civilization is not to act as the offender does but to show d offender that u re human nd not like them.. Life in prison even if it was with hard labour would ve been beta.. Its obvious Nigeria still has a long way to go
