Student kills own baby in Kaduna

An SS1 student of the Federal Government Girls College, Malali, Kaduna state has been arrested after she allegedly murdered her own baby and tried to dispose of the corpse today February 10th. According to Daily Trust, the student attempted to throw the baby over a female hostel fence, but the corpse got caught on the fence
 
Confirming the incident, the state Police spokesperson, DSP Zubairu Abubakar said one Ummu-Salam Umar; has been arrested in connection with the crime.
"At about 1.15pm, the Vice Principal of FGGC, Malali, Mrs. Obianwuzia reported at the station that ‎the corpse of a new born baby suspected to have been delivered by a student wrapped in a white cloth was thrown over the school fence. The corpse of the baby was left dangling on the school fence until the police came and removed it. After taking picture of the scene, it has been deposited at the mortuary."
He said further investigation has commenced into the matter.

    This same event happened many years ago in my secondary school, when she was asked what she threw over the fence she answered' it's coconut' the good thing is that the baby didn't die, she wrapped it up and threw it over the fence after giving birth in the toilet.

    Linda take not, it is Federal Government College and not Federal Government Girls college. This could happene to any student, she might not even be from the north. I went to that school and we had more southerners dan Northerners at that time. Lets not point accusing fingers, and stop jumping into unnecessary conclusion. I have lived with the hausa's for a long time, even illiteracy is the order of the day there, they were quite nice and homely towards non indegenes.
