Guests had already started arriving the venue of their wedding which was well decorated and as soon as the bride and groom, both from Kaduna state, arrived the venue, they were immediately arrested and taken to the Gwagwa Police Station where they were detained.
Eyewitnesses say that other people, including the sponsors of the wedding, chairman of the occasion and the owner of the hotel were also arrested during the raid.
The sponsors of the marriage were named as Abubakar Tahir and Mohammed Sani.

As much as I do not condone the act, it should not be criminalize that two grown up men, or women for that matter are in love with each other. Many are fixated on "sex" instead of "love" they have for each other. If they are not doing the "act" in your bedroom, what is your problem? I used to find it repulsive to think two men would want to have sex with each other. I still do. But take away the sex aspect of it, and let's respect the love they espouse for each other. The so called real heterosexual marriages partners are not even faithful to each other. Grow up Nigeria! Accept people for who they are, as long as they are not trampling on your rights!
