'He shouldn't have been appointed at all'- Onigbinde blasts Sunday Oliseh and NFF in new interview

Former Super Eagles coach and technical committee member Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has blasted Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh in yet another interview, saying Oliseh is using his tenure as Super Eagles coach to learn the job of coaching as he hasn't coached a big club or country before.

Onigbinde also talked about the duties of the technical committee especially as news filtered through social media today that some members of the committee had resigned from their post due to the NFF President's perceived favoritism towards Sunday Oliseh.

"This is the foundation of our football problems; the position of our Technical Committee. Whether we like it or not, football is a prime matter and so the technical committee is supposed to be the central committee." Onigbindetold www.footballlive.ng.
"The President, the Clerk, the messenger are all there to service the product of the Technical Committee and if the technical committee is not given the right of position, we will never get it right [sic].”
"The right of position starts from the composition of the committee itself. We knew the behaviour of this young man even when he was just the captain of the national team.
"Remember Mali (2002 Afcon), he came down as the leadership of the team and was insulting the Minister (Sports), is this not a continuation? You (NFF) didn’t consider that when you (Nff) were employing him; that’s number one.
"Number two, what was the depth of his experience? He has not coached a major club, he has not coached any national team and you now want him to perform experiment, to learn using the Nigerian national team; that is why I feel hurt. So these are the reasons why I asked – should he have been appointed at all from the beginning?”

  4. Will you shut the hell up before I close my eyes and open it! This is the problem you people have been having. You never give your past footballers the chance...If he's learning and so? Now is the time to stand by him, train him and give him all confidence and encouragement after all Oliseh was part of the people who served super Eagles with all his heart those days.

  12. Shatap onigbinde!! Who ask u?what did u accomplish as The Super Eagles coach in your tenure?keep your archaic thots to yourself,Oliseh is not a saint without sin,he has apologised so let's give him @ least another chance, everyone, you Onigbinde inclusive is talking out of envy,we know ur likes want to create confusion, whoever wants to resign should do so,who cares?we all know Sunday Oliseh and his many wahala from his playing days, but hey!would u disown him if he were ur son?lets be reaseaonable abeg, dis is exactly why he called them insane! Wreckless criticisms left right n centre, how fantastic was d Eagles and ofcourse the insane ppl running it that they shud expect Oliseh to perform miracle?abi Super Eagles na Brazil abi Spain?pls let d guy be,he needs to concentrate. Let's focus on his strength, dat way we can change him, otherwise,we'll keep castigating his every effort,n dat is distracting to me. Fuck off Onigbinde n his kinds!!

  16. Well! I think Oliseh must have morals, from his days as a footballer he insults NFF officials but he will never do so at the club he will be playin for then. "When dem don get small fame nd success dem start to dey raise shoulders" anyways! We dey Sidon wait for Egypt match, I op they pick point(s). Even nff nd the so called technical committee get their own for body. Nigeria case is alwys complicated.

  19. Even if Jesus came down to coach Nigeria Super Eagle, they will still complain. Sunday Olise might not have coached a big team, but what is wrong if this is his first big team? They want miracle with every coach but how much of their own parts are they playing. Rancor everywhere. He acted immature for complaining and speaking his mind over social media, right? Does it occur to all of you the pressure involve in taking a leadership position in any high sector in Nigeria right now, without ppl placing the messiah factor on u AND at the same time castigating your efforts. Abeg! Nigerian mentality on every sector can only be resolved by division (BIAFRA is a viable option, take it or leave it).

  29. Oga, do you have personal score to settle with oliseh or you want the job? sometimes I feel you go over the top with your criticism, when you took the super eagles to the 2002 world cup which you didn't qualify for, you never won a single match and it was a very dismal campaign....anytime you see a chance at the super eagles job you start slamming the coach that is there, you did same with keshi. You had your chance but you always sat on the substitutes bench with your hands on your chin as if you were just waking up in the morning while your team couldn't win a game.....stop the blame game to be honest asides oliseh's rant he hasn't done bad for a coach so far....it is up to the NFF to discipline him.
