Brides share pictures of hideous wedding gowns they ordered online

The nightmare is a very familiar one. You see something that looks good online, you order it, it arrives and to your horror, it looks like the ugly twin sister of what you ordered. The problem is compounded when it has to do with a bride's big day! Women have taken to the internet to share their stories. More photos after the cut...

These brides have learnt the hard way that good things don't come cheap. They spot a designer wedding gown online, the price is too steep so they plump for a cheap look-alike but looks can be deceptive, when the gown arrives, they realise it is far from the real thing.

Now, aggrieved brides-to-be are sharing their horror stories on Knock Off Nightmares, a website devoted to 'showing consumers the reality of ordering their formal wear online'.

What a mother told her son a day to his wedding [MUST READ]

Mummy’s boy, you are now a man. Tomorrow you will have a new mother, a new cook and a new person to share all your secrets with. It will no longer be me but her. Love your new mum even more than you love me. Before you walk into her arms forever, let me give you some words to guide you.
There was a day I was arguing with your father. We were screaming, Tempers were high. I was angry and He was angry. Then I called him an idiot! He was shocked, He looked at me asking how dare I call him that, Immediately started calling him idiot, fool, stupid, crazy, I called him all sort of name. Guess what he did? He didn’t raise his hands to hit me. He just walked away, banging the door as he went out...

  8. Sometime, the horror lies not in the dress but in the body type. A dress meant for Apple shape will be a disaster on a pear shape. A lot has to be in consideration. Then the details of your personal body anatomy cum the quality and the drape texture of the fabric has a lot to go in deciding if a dress is a disaster or not. If u pay a huge sum for a dress and the quality of the fabric is not it, then the dress is a horror #AsogeHauteCouture# @asogetweets @asogegram

  9. Why would any woman order a wedding gown online...a wedding gown of all things. Something you are probably going to wear just once on the happiest day of your life. I hate ordering clothes online. If it ain't electronics or small gadgets, I ain't doing no online order.

  21. One thing people fail to understand is that you have to get what fits your body not necessarily what is fine. Fitting is beauty. Some clothes here are out rightly hideous but some others ain't that bad but none is an exact replica

  61. Also had a bad experience.Ordered 2 dresses online from a shop "supposedly" in Europe&when they arrived,1 was manageable, the other went straight 2 the bin.Afterwards I did some background check on the actual location of the site&found out that it's China.Since then i have learnt to buy only what i have seen&felt.#buymadeinNaija

Please stay away from fashionmia.com sammydress.com tbdress.com ericdress.com etc

Go to the mall , try out your dress or bag or shoes . Forget Online shopping please . Except off course you are oder in from a brand and you do ve d right details .
