Photo: Jim Nwobodo renews his vows with his wife Patricia

Former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo renewed his vows with his second wife, Patricia, at a Catholic church today January 8th. Nwobodo who was a staunch Anglican, first married Patricia in an Anglican Communion in the early 80 but moved over to a Catholic church today after he fell out with the leadership of Communion following the death of his first son Ifeanyi last year.

Nwobodo, who was at loggerheads with his first wife and Ifeanyi's mother, had insisted that his son must not be buried in his compound in his village in Anambra, a move that caused him and his former church to fall apart.

Nwobodo was such a devote Anglican to the extent that he single-handedly built the multi-million naira St. Mathew’s Anglican Church in his hometown, Amechi, Awkunanaw in the 70s.

  15. He singlehandedly built the church with Anambra state money. I wonder why the Catholic church will recognize his marriage to the second wife, if the first wife is still alive?

    1. Thank you for correcting the statement. Jim Nwobodo is synonymous with corruption. Behind every corrupt Nigerian, there is a woman.

These is how my father in law married two wives with 18 children with all his wealth he refuse 2 train any of his kids,2 feed them is a crime, he spread hatred among all his children, some of his daughters died in prostitution. But he is a deacon in the church & teach in Sunday Schools. They welcomed him wth his evil cos he s wealthy.

  27. You can move from one church to another but the word of God is unchanged. His word is constant. Your money can not buy the word of God. You can deceive yourself but not God.

  40. Nwobodo, Nwobodo, Nwobodo. How many times did I call you? Amend your ways so that you wiil be at the right place with God. Stop spoiling the little name you made for yourself. You've been like this, from time. I remember the Jos convention where you collected money and betrayed your own Igbo man. Buhari should beware of people like this, because they have Nigerian interest at heart. All they care about is their own interest and pocket. You've maltreating your children from your first wife and even rejected your first son's corpse. Catholic Church should be careful what they do.

  45. Many factual errors!Firstly, Jim Nwobodo did not say he changed to Catholic because of the disagreement over burial of his first son. The disagreement was not with the Anglican church but his children from Mukosoro, his divorced wife. Or did he or the Church say that in any forum whatsoever. Ut smacks of rascality to asume in news and not be fact-based even when the news is in a blog or wherever. Secondly, the church Jim built in Amechi, his home town, is St Martins not St Mathew. Thirdly, the impression that Jim is from Anambra state is wrong. He ruled old Anambra state but is from Enugu. I congratulate Jim for choosing the Catholic faith. Those who are hiding in thus blog to cast aspersion and throw mud at him can never in life rise to his his feet because it is not their duty to condemn him even before he is judged.
