PDP accuses EFCC of plotting to poison Olisa Metuh

PDP has accused operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, of plotting to poison its National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh who was arrested yesterday January 5th.
“The PDP insists that for whatever reason Chief Metuh was arrested, his rights as a citizen under the law must not be trampled upon. We therefore demand (for) his immediate release and that due process of investigation and prosecution concerning him should be strictly adhered to. We state this because we have been made aware of top directives to break Chief Metuh and if possible poison him during his detention by the EFCC,” they said in a statement

  37. At this time in my Country, I feel less enthusiastic in what I now perceive to be a selective fight against corruption. I was enthusiastic in the early hours of the coming on board of this administration but as the hours turn into days and days add up to weeks, I see more of coming months being made pregnant by arrests, detentions and court cases. I am not a PDP supporter so do not put me in the umbrellar. I am not even an APGA member so needless for you to call me a "crowing cock". I am a democrat! I am a lover of truth and justice.

What I see and what you feel are not the same and can never ever even bear a resemblance. I see injustice right now. I feel tensions being mounted on the Country and a danger looming to high crescendo if the government does not fight corruption first within its caucus.

This fight should begin at home. Look around you and see the log of dirts. You have singled PDP out as the scapegoat. Some of those making the broom look very neat and denying it of its duty of being able to accommodate dirts now, we're they not PDP members who ran away because they could not remain faithful based on the fear of the sins they committed?

Those who have decided to remain are not saints but I appreciate them and I love them for such a bravado.

Let us learn to look within ourselves. Those who are cursing Jonathan today are now enjoying the dividends of democracy. Look at the trains and the number of good roads the North is enjoying.

We are fighting corruption and not a selected few of our enemies. If this fight is truly approached with the required courage and openness, many of the APC members would be in jail today. GOD, be the judge on all these...
