APC blasts PDP’s attacks against anti-graft war

The APC asked the anti-corruption agencies to ignore the attacks of the opposition party PDP
against the anti-graft war of the Pres. Buhari's government.
In a statement by the National Secretary of the APC, Mai Mala Buni on Saturday, it stated that the APC was aware of the plan by PDP and their agents to dismantle the efforts of the present administration over the ongoing corruption cases that is being investigated.

Buni said that the APC is asking anti-corruption agencies not to be distracted by attacks from the PDP and that the present govt will continue to employ all legal means to bring to book all looters to book.
He said:
“It is clear that the PDP is out of sync and out of step with the generality of Nigerians on the clamour to bring to book all looters of public funds. The days of impunity are over.
“We state that the PDP and their agents do not have the luxury of dictating how the present administration and anti-corruption agencies carries out its legitimate duty of catching looters of public funds, as long as it conforms with the rule of law.”

The APC should not be distracted, but concentrate on achieving this.

  30. From this statement from APC,you can see how stupid this party is. First majority of Nigerians want treasury looters to be punished. But doing so illegally is the problem. We are no longer in a military regime and so the laws of the land must be followed even if the process is so slow. So for APC to say they are carrying out all these arrest in conformity with the law is a lie from the pit of hell. They are detaining suspects without allowing them bail which is against their fundamental human rights that nigeria is a signatory to worldwide. I am not a PDP supporter but the TRUTH TELLER. Not like father Ubaka who speaks with two different parts of his tongue. A genuine man of God speaks the truth always. You can't attack Jonathan and keep your mouth shut when Buhari is violating the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria. He is only fighting the so called corruption by focusing on members from the opposing party.Selective persecution. It didn't work before and it is not going to work. Until people like Amaechi, Fashola and Lai Mohammed are locked up in jail, this is nothing but a political jamboree

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why bother ? Is there still a Party called PDP or just traces of existence ?

    ReplyDelete
  42. APC I agree with your fight but let's call a spade a spade! You can't hold someone in custody for over 48hrs without access to his lawyer or even charging the person formally. Get evidence then arrest!! And we know there are lots of corrupt looters in the APC camp that have not been "invited" thus far by the EFCC! All we want is transparency and for the rule of law to be adhered to

    ReplyDelete
  43. We do not expect them to keep mute and watch, they will also want to fight back but as long as this administration is resolute about the fight against corruption all their rantings should strengthen the government the more. Corruption must die in Nigeria and the time is now.....#just be just#

  59. My own is that Buhari and his agents EFCC are going about the anti graft war the wrong way. They should have evidence against a person and take them to court. Not locking up someone illegally then going to search for evidence. Nigeria has a rule of law. We are not a Dictatorship- though the way Buhari is going we are fast heading that way. Follow the law; do things properly is all I'm saying. All the illegality is too much. The way Apc hypes up the media is ridiculous. Trials are now by media. Innocent are presumed guilty all on the media. What happened to innocent till proven guilty?? Do things properly. We are going to 1 year since Buhari and Apc took the reins of government. So far what has happened? No prosecutions just abject poverty everywhere. No governance, nothing being put in place-no roads have been built, no new job creation; just talk of anti corruption. Na anti corruption talk we go chop?
