  21. Well,Christians see men as stewards or agents of God's blessings. It's like the servant who delivers the oga's gift... who gets the most gratitude?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Abi the patient no pay am (with thanks Doctor and more patronage with word of mouth ad)...No be for free

  30. Was he not paid for the surgery? What else does he want? Meanwhile he goes to church and prays everyday, coming on social media to sound cool.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Obiano you need not to have such thoughts because God was the one you guided you through the surgery process and what if the person died in the process? Abi you go for find reward.... Your reward is in heaven and never expect a patient to reward you because you're doing your job and that was why you practised that profession. If you like resurrect the person from the dead ni, you don't have to expect reward from them ni because you just did your job. Its the patient choice ni like there are some people who prefer taking their tithes to the orphanage homes rather than putting it in the church, so its a personal church....... Jor oh

    ReplyDelete
  32. Didnt you get paid for your work?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Even doctors say that they only cure but God heals. Going to pastors is just to thank God for wat he used the doctors to do.

  35. It show the wrong mentality of the average Nigerian who believes more in miracles as opposed to genuine effort towards a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Huh? The doctor himself is confused,u were doing ur job,the patient paid u money, not like its a free service, d patient will give u gift if he/she wants too..and they aren't really giving pastors gift, they are giving the gift to God,but since they can't see God,they give him to the person closest to God -their pastors....

    ReplyDelete
  37. Shei na free you do the surgery ni?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Was the surgery free?thats the life you have chosen bro,it is not compulsory for the person to give you gifts because one way or the other, your services have been paid for. This is not even supposed to be an issue for discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Shei na free you do the surgery ni?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes, it was all possible because of God, u were able to stand all those hours because of God.. he did it through ur hands... so all praise is due to him..

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well, it's a personal thing
Wat does d surgeon expect? Is he not being paid for d job?

    ReplyDelete
  42. How insensitive of this person to even share this stupid topic.Did you perform the surgery for free ?its either the person paid a large chunk of money or the govt or some other person is paying you for it so what stupid gifts are you expecting?if the person gives you gifts,it's from his or her free and goodwill,it isn't compulsory in any way so you shouldn't be getting angry biko.

    ReplyDelete
  43. True talk. Doctors shuld be appreciated

    ReplyDelete
  44. Dats Reality. Doctor treats but God heals

    ReplyDelete
  45. The free u do the surgery?

    ReplyDelete
  46. That's because you ve done what u ve been paid to do abi was the surgery free, doctors and nurses are so full of themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  47. That's what most people do, and they give thanksgiving and thank their pastor for the night prayer forgetting the doctor cos it's his profession.

  50. 100% agree. Nigerian's are too spiritual and fail to recognize human skill and talent and appreciate that too alongside the spiritual. Real shame

    ReplyDelete
  51. I don't think those gifts are for pastors but for God, going into surgery nd coming back safe nd sound isn't the doctors doing but God, God used the doctor. You sha don collect ur surgery fee too, so what else do you want again aside the fee nd thank u. Standing for hours in the surgery room is part of what makes u a surgeon.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well ds is true . I feel d person shld always remeber d hospital dt saved his or her life cos it wasnt easy and den on d oda hand mayb d pastor was praying for a successful operation

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oga Dr,were u not paid to perform that surgery? U want the patient to pay homage to u for the rest of their lives cos God used u to save their lives? Ur share is ur fee,the most important is for the person to thank God,and if the person's idea of giving thanks is with gifts to the pastor( that was also inter ceding on their behalf for a success operation) then leave them be. Hate drs that think they are God.

    1. If you read again, he said stand for hrs FIGHTING, they could as well spend hrs doing the basic not being negligent yet the loose the patient , but taking the extra step , determination, dedication, to ensure that they come through is a challenge.if yu see these sitcoms, grace anatomy etc you can tell the psycological trauma dese doctors go through because they are rmotially attached to theitlr patients. Am sure we all have instances where we visit hospitals and the Nurse / doctor treat patients like shit.so its not wrong for this dr to tweet his mind.as for the pastors reciving gifts; they can aswell tell d pple to sow seeds in other pple lives aswell and not accepting everything bcos God is not a consumer

  54. Let give thanks to God in whatever

  56. Gbam. You emotionally invest in a patients IVF process, keep them emotionally and mentally balanced for the process, hold their hand. Then it is successful, you keep them healthy during pregnancy and they have a baby or babies, they run to church and edit out the IVF part and claim it was pastors declaration during camp.

What a lie we turn religion into

    ReplyDelete
  57. yes that the right thing, even the doc say we treat God heals,so the pastors are the one representing God here. TIMILEYIN BLESSING

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ahahahahahahaha!, this is gross and very thoughtful too, no matter how u look at it, he speaks d truth, he's a realist just like me. But looking at it from a second point of view, d doctor sells medicine and provides medical service, he makes a margin/profit on his business/merchandise, but d pastor is a spiritual father that wields d supernatural might of God. So, well!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hmm...I think doctors shouldn't be expecting any gifts from their patients after-all they're paid for their services. As for showering gifts to the pastor s its not necessary at all.

    ReplyDelete

  63. I'm sure he doesn't know the amount of hours the pastor probably spent praying for him. I'm not saying doctors shouldn't be appreciated but without God, all your hours spent could be in vain. Haven't you ever spent hours and lost the patient?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Even thou i know these pastors are all fake; i still do understand what makes people to give such gifts. It is Faith, believe that there is a supernatural force out there and the fact that humans was designed to exhibit such traits. And as for the doctors, if una wan dey collect such gifts then make una sef open una own church na after all them dey pay una well to be doctors wetin make una eye dey shine for pastors salary. LOL

  77. I am a medical doctor and can confirm that that happens a lot. The patient even complains they were not well treated at the hospital. On the flip side however, we should not expect patients to give us gifts or tokens of appreciation for doing our jobs. That's our calling, that's the oath we took.

    ReplyDelete
  78. This is very very true. Many people worship their pastors as if they are God. That is the reason our churches is turning to a playground. Now pastors attention is being shifted from the norm to the rich people in the ministries. Gos help us.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Before nko???
You're not God... Just a pair of hands He choose to use!! Only a Nigerian Dr would want a patient to give him gifts for doing the job he's paid to do!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. This poster should take several seats and stop been unreasonable. Did the patient pay for the treatment and procedure? Did he or she say a thank you to the doctor and nurses? Perharps yes. If He or She feels the need to appreciate GOD for the healing how is that a problem. Even doctor who are not minimal with the truth knows that Doctors treats but God heals. Are you trying to say those patients that did not survive a treatment procedure were probably handled by incompetent or non committed doctors?
Some people can be very unreasonable some times. SMH.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Mortals can be so foolish. Well the lord deserve to be appreciated. Why expect gifts? Weren't u paid before the surgery?? Fyi: you didn't save the patient's life, in-fact u never save any ones life. What if you collapse all of a sudden during the operation????

    ReplyDelete
  86. you were just doing the job you chose and you get paid...the gifts go to church because God used you. so shut up

    ReplyDelete
  87. My brother doctor, you are not God. The medical knowledge you have is from God. The success or failure of your surgeries are determined by God. Are all your surgeries successful? Some after all you are done, the patient will still die. Are you not paid for the service you render?

Once they recover, they will forget your phone number, only to remember it again when they have some kinda stomach bite or when they feel some kinda side effect.

  106. True....the divine gift to cure and treat has been given to the physician/doctor just as the divine gift to invent jet speed plane that travels faster than the speed of sound is given to the scientist , the divine gift of story telling to the writer of books etc etc etc...Why are Africans always deluded with these men behind pulpits who majority of the time are just opportunists and scam artists????They are nothing but men who basically do nothing....look at the state of Nigeria with millions of pastors in the country? Is it not evident they are overrated? Now go to Asia (China , Singapore, Thailand etc) where they have none of these p@#nks and see how civilized, clean, organized , progressive and prosperous these nations are? Need I say more???

  163. Reading previous comments confirms exactly what the poster is saying. We have been so brainwashed by religion. Plus the comprehension problem. Here is mind blowing cos I never saw where the dude said anything about the patient bringing gift to him

  165. Shout out to everyone who said that the gifts are for God and not the pastor.
I guess God will have to come down and eat the bunches of plantain and tubbers of yam.

Pastors are so enjoying out of the mediocrity of many.

If only they (pastors) would do their thing without saying evil things about us, we native doctors; There would have been fair trade in this whole thing. But they spend more time telling their followers evil things about us so much that we have become so painted black, while in the real sense, evil men dwell mostly amongst them.

In fact, I go soon become Pastor!

Sincerely speaking the mind of Amadioha

  167. so much sense in it for example. if the patient was super religious then he shOULDA GONE TO THE PASTOR TO PERFORM THE SURGERY SPIRITUALLY, but no he went to the surgeon. .isten for every action dere is a reason. the reaction id basic because if u put in effort in praying and the patient end s up dying so whats the point..so dts were God comes in. in my opinion a surgeon is paid to operate on a patient regardless of if the patient is saved or not..but goin extra mile..time..n effort to do it right so it comes out successful is no business of the pastor but God himself and d surgeon. the pastor is jst a laer existence to communicate spiritually to God for his mercies on usin the surgeon as a means of saving his life. the truth is we blacks r alwaiz in denials..forgetin dt science has alwaiz been a break tru ever since miracles stopd working for really damned medical deficulties.
