The order came following a motion entitled: ”JAMB’s New Admission Policy, “ sponsored by Senator Joshua Lidani, APC, Gombe South, which was debated during plenary.
They also urged JAMB to consult widely with Parents Teachers Association, PTA, ASUU and all other stakeholders in the education sector with a view to coming out with a friendlier holistic, comprehensive and sustainable admissions policy.
It also directed its Committee on Education to enquire into circumstances surrounding the JAMB policy, including all allegations of favouritism and generally review the power of JAMB vis-a-vis administration and submit findings within one week.
Lidani said JAMB, at its 2015 Combined Policy Meeting, held on July 14, 2015, in Abuja, announced the adoption of a policy whereby candidates of universities with surplus applicants for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations, UTME, were reassigned to other universities with lower number of candidates than their capacities. Which he said was inappropriate because some candidates get sent to private universities that they cant afford.

Shouldn't this be tagged the news of the year? Every student would be glad to see this. Luke 2:52,2tim 2:15
That Dibu Ojerinde doesn't think before implementing anything
Hmmmmm...
These Senator's want to turn JAMB to chewing stick. Biko dis advise is frm them is unacceptable and let them leave JAMB alone to run their houz as they deem fit.

This will be so nice if they shld implement this. Imagine sm1 paying consecutively for years re-writing jamb every year, makes it look like it doesn't even worth it....in d first place. But if they extend it, atleast some ppl will see †ђξ usefulness of writing it even once....makes sense that way

I support this..
I had to write jamb thrice, before admission finally came.. E nor easy to dey buy form every year
I support the decision of the senate stopping JAMB from sending candidates to schools they didn't apply, as for the other one, I have my reservations.

Ubanagum
Nice move! It's really gonna be of help to all admission seekers.
I've thought about it several times and I don't think they will, it will cost them money. Thousands will not purchase JAMB forms if the validity period is extended.
Best news I've read today ... Younger ones shouldn't have to go through what I went through to gain admission.
God bless the senate for this....
Very welcome motion

The sanate should also look into admision process where a candidate can't get admission in to Fed.university after passing both post jamb and jamb respectively. Am John from Lagos

Wow! Good innovation, this is what I call good news, people keep writing and failing jamb..when you pass this year u get to use it for 3yrs,,,#bestnewsin2015...I wrote jamb twice and I never failed!
nice. Admission process should be looked into as universities use the opportunity to defraud parents and candidates of their money.
It would be nice.
