Graphic: Troops repelled attempt on Mada, rescues women in Firigi

Press statement from the Nigerian Army
It should be recalled that in the early hours of Monday morning, the Boko Haram terrorists made spirited attempt to attack troops location using 3 VBIED at Mada which was successfully repelled. During the attack which was meant to thwart the troops advancement, 26 terrorists were killed while 3 soldiers sustained an injury.
In addition, the troops recovered 1 VBIED loaded with IED material, 2 AK-47, 111 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) and 2 RPG bombs. Similarly, troops of 21 Brigade had also on fighting patrol at Firgi killed 3 Boko Haram terrorists, rescued 3 women and recovered a vehicle and other items while the rest fled deep into Sambisa forest.

      Wah about the lying soldiers.. They said they killed 26bk bois and recovered 2 Ak47 how come.. Lemme assume that some cane with IED'S and the MILLIMETER'S buh how come there are four AK being displayed and don't tell me u would be going to fight a battle and won't arm itself with a rifle..I don't mean a short gun buh an automatic rifle..its done nowhere..so wah happened to the guns of the said 26bks who were killed.. LIES... And I trust naija we too dey show..if they actually killed 26 like they claimed they would have showcased all the deceased to gain more hailings from us

    The reason why we always have reoccurrence of attacks on villages is that every time the Nigerian army recaptures territories from BH,it lacks sufficient soldiers to man those villages.
    I think the govt needs to recruit more khaki boys & deploy em to NE.
