Drama in the Senate as Sen. Abaraibe queries the dressing of his colleague, Waliki

A mild drama which led to general laughter ensued in the senate yesterday as one of the senators, Enyinnaya Abaraibe representing Abia South queried the dressing of his colleague, Ali Waliki representing Bauchi South (pictured above).

Waliki who had received a petition from students of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, was about to lay the petition before the Senate as directed by Senate President Saraki when Abaribe raised a point of order, saying that Waliki should not be allowed to lay the petition as he was not well dressed

“Mr. President, my distinguished colleague is not properly dressed, as such, he should not be allowed to lay the petition. He is wearing suit without a tie,” Abaribe said.
Responding, Wakili who was wearing a black suit without a tie said “I’m properly dressed and if you look at the way Obama dresses, you will appreciate my dressing.”he said

A general laughter enveloped the chambers afterwards. Waliki later laid his petition before the house.

    1. Mumu u no get head. Ofcuz he can buy a tie. The other senator is foolish for picking on such a trivial issue. This driver, u really do lack understanding and reasoning oh. I mean that, honestly. Pls help urself. Read educative books. Surround urself with reasonable focused minded intelligent people. Watch movies that make u think and try to solve or understand the hidden facts in the movie before it is revealed at the end. It will help exercise ur brain. Please

  28. Yes it is kind of funny, but with my little understanding with parliamentary procedings as a strong union member only those who have nothing to say or offer will call another to order because of his or her dressing and negleting the main issue at hand. But that does not mean they should not dress smart. (just saying)

    1. These the bunch of Animals you people have as law makers. North east is on fire and these animals are busy complaining of dress code.

I'm sure if any of their sons and daughters were to be involved they would have ignored anybody in his boxer shorts and proceed with d business of the day.

  31. Enyinnaya Abaraibe representing Abia South is a misplaced priority and a disgraced to the people of his zone/state. He was elected to go to d senate to check or monitors dressing not to articulate bills into laws that do his zone and d entire country good... Some Nigeria senators need psychiatric attention
