Brazilian actress shares a photo of her natural hair..and gets hateful, racist comments

Popular Afro-Brazilian actress Taís Araújo shared the photo above on her Facebook page and you would think people would compliment her her but instead shewas hit with a barrage of racist comments. The first person wrote;
“Who posted the picture of this gorilla on Facebook?”; another wrote “Lend me your hair I wash dishes,” and “I did not know that zoo has camera.”
Taís Araújo and her actor husband, Lázaro Ramos, are the most visible black couple in the country where they appear in a national TV show, “Mr. Brown,” a series inspired by Beyoncé and Jay Z. And even though almost 50% of Brazil’s population is of African descent, black people are rarely seen in the media but Taís and her husband are breaking barriers. See her response to the abuse after the cut..

"won’t delete any of those comments. I want you all to feel the shame I felt: the shame to still have people so cowardly and small in this country ... I won’t be intimidated or keep my head down. I’ll continue to do what I do best: work. If my image or the image of my family bothers you, it’s your problem!

  12. No power will bring you down...You shall continue to be the head & not tail...You shall continue to be at the top & never at the bottom IJN. As for the haters, I pray for a sincere repentance & I pray to God to have mercy upon them; for thou shall not hate your fellow human being even though you may dislike what they do.

  15. Racism is not cowardly, I just feel it is man's need to classify and intimidate. He likes to feel better, likes to feel that he is above someone, that is what racism is!

  16. Any race is only as good as their continent of origin. If your continent is rich you gain the respect of other races. If your continent is poor, no matter how rich you are as an individual, you and generations unborn would be subject to riddle. My people focus on these conmen you call leaders. Wake up.

  25. Such a great response. The level of racism towards blacks in Brazil is not decreasing any time from now even when most of the things Brazil is known for are being championed by Brazilians of African decent. I hope this lady and her husband doesn't relent and keep the series going cos they will never regret the idea in the long run by paying less or even no attention at all to those f"chtards who are only jealous about her beautiful hair.

    They are to be considered as Robots.
