One of the taxi drivers at the association had given him a thorough direction and he was raring to go. He had heard of "Calabar " girls and if he had to use his current girlfriend, Ekaete as a yardstick, then this trip was going to be worth it. His only concern was that Ekaete had insisted on coming along. He had tried everything to get her to stay back but she was adamant.
"Oka Musi, ju ah koin tu tek me tu Ekid, i cannod lif in dis Lakos if ju nod here and by de way, i wanna ko zsee my mmoda (Oga Musi, you are going to take me to Eket, i cannot live in this Lagos if you are not here and by the way, i want to go see my mother)" she had said in her thick Calabar accent. In the end he had to take her.
Sorry "calabar" girls, not this time.
One of his clients had hired him to take some goods to Eket for his daughter's wedding and he was getting a whopping Fifty Thousand Naira, which wasn't a bad deal. Plus he was taking Ekaete along. He had arranged to pick her up at Ibafo, so that his wives and the people she was working for will not suspect anything.
