Those agitating for Biafra nation are miscreants & should be ignored - Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described those agitating for the creation of Biafra state as miscreants. Obasanjo said this in an interview with Sahara reporters
"This is a fake agitation. You people make a mountain out of a molehill. These are boys who want to take people unaware and get money out of them in the name of Biafra. These are the people you should ignore, I don’t talk about Biafra. (Philip) Effiong came and said Biafra ceased to exist and since that day, Biafra has ceased to exist. We absorbed those we should absorb both into the civil service and into the military.
Even those we didn’t absorb, who we initially regarded as being retired without benefits, later on we even gave them their benefits. Abandoned houses were returned. Within 10 years of the end of our Civil War, an Igbo man became the vice-president of our country. It took the Americans 100 years before they got to that point. So, what are you talking about? They have held all the ministerial positions existing in this country. We have Igbo as the Governor of Central Bank, Igbo has headed many parastatals in this country. That’s why these miscreants should be ignored. They want to get money and they go round and say, ‘We are still being victimised. We are still being treated badly in Nigeria,’ so that they can take money from people.”he said

  9. ...and those sounding the war drums are the ones that'll be so quick to disappear should the battle gets tough.I have nothing against legitimate grievances but my question is,do they have the balls to see it through? They may have their reasons, but I hate it when the ignorant are pushed to the fore while those who benefit from such agitations are @ the rear & wouldn't get caught up in the flames that may engulf the people when the fire is being started.

    15. But is he lying. No be chop Kanu dey use this thing do. Wise up. If serious ppl bring up the Biafran grievances then I want to hear it. Instead it's Nazi type declaration and raining insults on your neighbors. If you are so superior, hold your leaders to task, live in your own land etc. Only weak minded ppl resort to name calling and "superior race" arguements to buttress their points. Next time you want to support someone, pick someone with substance and not someone everyone will laugh at. I'm embarrassed for my Igbo brothers cos he isn't even close to your best. A ppl that produced Anyoku, Chimamanda and Linde Ikeji are propping up Kanu as a leader. Ewww. Good luck

  19. That is my thought. As Pure Igbo Boy With About 6 Hectares Of Land Fenced At Lekki Lagos, how on earth I'm I to pay attention to Biafra? Even if this country splits, it won't be splitted by tribes. A lot of us here will choose to be Westerners. It wouldn't be a force thing to belong to Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo nation because we are grassrooted from their. It would be a matter of decision. Igbonation will lose a lot of their people because we are more advanced in Lagos. However, no country in the world is made up of it's citizens from ancient origin. I think Jobless Igbos and Yorubas are prone to violence. You can't see successful people like me, Linda Ikeji, Dangote, Femi Otedola and more thinking division. People should try be successful and stop causing issues everywhere because of small coins. That's how these Yorubas riff raff beat me up when I was leaving in Mushin. With just N100 to their hand, you automatically become the boss and they will be saluting you like their ancestor. People should try get job and be realistic with life.

You know very well that your so-called 'boldness' has never and will still not be attributable to bravery but treachery. Leave resting souls to be. We know you. 109. ObasanJo is really making clear the lines that divide us...yes I don't support the move for Biafra but when a former head of state releases a press statement reffering to a certain segment of the country's population as "they" and using "we" when he talks about the rest then it won't be false to say that a lot hasn't been buried after the civil war. This is the major reason why our country hasn't move forward, past and present leaders expect people to behave a certain way because their actions might instigate an uproar..instead of trying to look into reasons for a certain people's agitation, or listen to them. When a wife feels neglected or maltreated she'll react..thats a sign of love. Our leaders really need to go to the roots and settle whatever discord our past leaders has sown. We are different people called a nation and we should respect our differences....a yoruba man won't behave like an Igbo man same with other tribes and vice versa..But then we can never be one if our leaders use this sensitive characteristic of our nation to play politics..so if obasanjo really wants to help, he should go to the roots, and adress the issue. Because as stupid as Nnamdi Kanu's position in this story is, when he's gone, another will start this agitation someday!

  119. Obasanjo as spoken my mind. Just ignore these people making money and deceiving young men that they would match. No biafra.

  120. Hmmmm.
When boko haram started. Ignore them was the respond nd now they are threat. One day the name ' Nigeria ' will go extinct.

  121. OBJ is a fool, who should be ignored, and Hell fire is waiting for him, IBB, Rt T. Danjuma & all fake politicians in Nigeria.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Obasanjo even ur own tribe dislike u bcos ur evil did,u re nija's problem.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Obasanjo is a old fool that always open his mouth to talk rubbish. Rather than address the problem of injustice against the south east by the Buhari led Government which is the cause for the cry of Biafra. He want to heat up the polity with his stupid comment. That is very rough from a former President. If he truly believe in Nigeria he should advice president Buhari the child rapist to call for a National conference or implement the recommendations of the last National conference of 2015. I believe in one Nigeria but it should be a one Nigeria were every tribe and region right is protected and given a sense of belonging.
The old brains and leaders are the problems of Nigeria. The youths should rise up against this. If not it will never stop.

  124. Bushman, typical words from a Nigerian leader . honestly the brain of black leaders is someyhing else.

    ReplyDelete
  125. This big mouthed guy should shut up joooor. Philip Effing said but now many people are saying Biafra would be. Should it be a favor for Igbos to occupy position in Nigeria, if Nigeria is truly one. Na by force, what is it. If people say they want Biafra then let them be.

Listen to them and find a solution not ignoring them #astitchintimesavesnine
Once again old age is not wisdom.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I am Igbo and I do not want to be in Biafra. Full stop!

    ReplyDelete
  134. Must you talk on every issue? At your age always reflect on your fractured family unless you have no shame.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Obasanjo is showing ignorance and stupidity. When did freedom of speech become a crime.

    ReplyDelete
  136. It will come to pass one day, weda he likes it or not.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Even Ojukwu in his last day saw the futility in their venture. Philip Efiong concurred. Obj is absolutely on point. Why sit on a mat and try to fold it. The intellectual Igbos see Nigeria as a nation where their dues must be gotten. These silly rabble rousers need to apply more sense and understand that their antics have been unraveled

  138. Someone always ends up reaping the benefits of war. I'm Igbo by tribe but forever a Nigerian. I can not and would never be a part of a movement who seeks to divide and not unite, who would rather shade blood instead of peace, a cause who was responsible for the deaths of million all in the name of civil war (where by my mum was a baby and had to be hidden in the gutters to survive) a selfish cause that is so one sided and blind. I'm just disappointed dat this is coming from a Legion of warriors, a clan of strong men, an independent and strong willed people who survive and thrive wherever they are found. My people, make una better wake up. I'm not gonna put my life or that of my families on the line because of a one sided cause. I can't afford to fly them abroad when the going gets tough. When e happen now, all of una wey dey rake, I hope ur ready to die, cuz no Nation divided without a war/chaos. As for me, It's Nija until I die. Why didn't Ojukwu keep fighting for this same cause he began? Ask urslfvz. So much for leadership *rolls eyes*

  142. People like Obj. Amaechi should nt even dare to put d slightest contribution in dis country. I wonder y a 16yrs band Wagon leader. Who drove dis country into a mess. Should b allowed to sight directions. If u were dat saint n Mr right. Y were u nt able to give dis nation a reason to stay togeda. One funny tin is dat all of u yelling "BABA ON POINT" were d first to confirm Obj n his cohorts in pdp were d ones who mesmerised dis country. Especially d change criers. Obj mind u. U r Neva a model to be looked up to. N biafrans will Neva mind a bit of ur controversial statement. Cos we already no were u driving at. Ur too old for all dis crabs. Y don't u retire politically go home to ur home town n take care of ur cow, goats n hen in otta. DATs where old folks like u takes d rest remains of dia life. N:B = dbiafrans spirit is unquenchable. Dough it may tarry.

  143. He made his point clear.. I don't think there's any need for the Igbo to even think about breaking up. It's highly uncalled for. It's high th I me we embrace peace and progress, handwork and consistency. Besides, if Biafra want to divide it will only cause more problems than we are already facing. 1Nigeria is what I pray for... PEACE OUT

    ReplyDelete
  144. Ibo girls r not ready for division o, prostitution pays in Lagos and the love of Yoruba men would not let them. Biafra wll go on its own without the women lmao

  145. In every civil society, such matters are given due attention. But because here we are running a rogue society.....where peter is robbed to pay paul,......where people live like second class citizens in their own country, where a group of crimials carrying guns smuggled their devilish religion into the constitution while others where asleep

    ReplyDelete
  146. ........so that they can take money from people. .......
BY THIS STATEMENT OF YOURS OBJ, BABANGIDA, BUHARI, ABACHA, ABDUSALAMI, et al....ARE ALL MISCREANTS.......because they all took money from the people. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
