Photos: This lady is looking for her father

24 year old Yetunde Brown, a student at the College of Agriculture in Jalingo, Taraba state is searching for her father who she simply knows as Major Brown. While narrating her story to NTA, Yetunde said her late mother, Asabe Lodiya who died in 2002, only handed her a photo of her father without giving her his name or any other information about him. She said;

"I don't know my father's real name. I have his picture and I have my mother's picture. I only know him as Major Brown. Those who I met and asked about him, said they know him as Major Brown because that is his popular name. He is the one that named me Yetunde saying that I am his mother that came back. I can't just believe that if truly I am his mother that came back, he can just dump me in Taraba there without knowing anything about me.  I want people out there to help me look for him or to talk to him. I believe there are my relatives out there. I want to know my father's family. I want to see my father if he is still alive because since I was born, I have never set my eyes on him" she said

  34. If her father is the one in a uniform in the picture then i must say he looks quite familiar, though i might be wrong I believe i have seen him twice but this was in 1991. Please tell the lady to contact the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Abuja. I believe her father passed away along with my dad in 1992 in Lagos when the C-130 Military plane crashed in Ejigbo killing all the military officers on-board. I hope she gets closure.

  42. Thank God for her life, I believe she has been making progress with her life. I also sympathize with her on the demise of her beloved mum. Truth is, and this is majorly based on my working experience with the military, the nature of the job and its attendant postings confines most of its men and officers to the status of "geographical bachelors". Like I have witnessed in some cases, some of these military personnel didn't even know they impregnated some of the women they had relationships with...sometimes, they were posted out in very such notice. Just to give a clearer picture, as we read this, there are some 40,000 children in Liberia and Sierra-Leon who where sired by Nigerian fathers who they don't know.

    Best bet for her is to approach the Army HQ records unit with the picture...they'll sure help.
