Police vows to arrest Saraki without delay

Hours after the Code of Conduct Tribunal issued a bench warrant for Saraki’s arrest for failing to appear in court in his ongoing trial for alleged false asset declaration, the Nigeria Police has vowed to arrest Saraki and produce him to the tribunal by Monday September 21st. The police force public relations officer, Mrs. Olabisi Kolawole said today
“We are going to promptly arrest the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and produce him before the Code of Conduct Tribunal on Monday. Since it is a bench warrant issued by a competent court, the order will be carried out without delay. We don’t want to pre-empt anything,” she said in an interview with The Nation

  29. I believe politicians that are suspected to be wanting should be prosecuted. I am not a fan of Saraki or any politician in Nigeria as I believe more than 95% of them are pen robbers. But these selective prosecution of politicians got to stop. You can't prosecute some thieves and let others ride along enjoying their loot. Buhari's enemies should not be the ones to be prosecuted while his allies that are thieves like Tinubu, Amaechi and Fashola are allowed to go Scott free. The perception by many that the President hate the south is now spreading to the the middle belt too. Buhari and tinubu, leave Saraki alone or prosecute all irrespective of party affiliations.

  36. To add to my earlier contribution on this matter, the Senate President is third in line to the Presidency. So if anything happens to the President and Vice president, he would be president. So why is he not enjoying the same immunity that the President and Vice President are? Justice I believe need to be served but the office of the Senate President must be respected

  37. Lawyers pls enlighten me...but a Federal court ruled against the arraignment of saraki by d code of conduct bureau tribunal last week, how come this is happening.

  40. Honestly similar allegations have been made against other individuals even sponsored documentaries on tv yet they countered with ads in the papers, talked about pigs getting dirty and to my knowledge no one has been investigated and put before any tribunal let alone court unlike the case of saraki. Seems now anti corruption probe is now the political weapon of choice. Certain unelected ppl vowed to deal with him and now this. The office of the senate president should be accorded more respect and discretion than this in my view.

It already happened with the other lawmaker on the run from justice from the states. His house was under siege for a while then they let him go, the case now forgotten by everyone.

  59. This is how the law should work ,no body should be above the law as Babangida did during okuta panel whilst he refused to appear and nothing was done to him.
I pray that our law makers and the judiciary should do their work throughly and honestly to cleaning the mess we have at hands at moment so when Buhari gone people should follow the footpath and fear God to obey the law to serve the people when they were in government.
If Bukola should be charged to court for one reason to another what about other governors in the past? I believe the same law should be applicable to them all.
Moreover the trial of FEMI FANI KAYODE SEEMED TO BE INJUSTICE! DOES IT MEANS THAT HE WAS NOT GUILTY OF THE CHARGES? IF SO WHERE ARE THE ALEGED STONE MONEY THEN? THE JUDGE THAT TRIED FANI KAYODE SHOULD BE PROSECUTED AND TRY IN THE LAW COURT FOR BRIBERY AND CURRUPTION TOO!

  63. Well police you people are not acting well when lamoda was accused of defrauds of this country 2 tril did we see this action from you comparing him to present himself before the Senate committee for hearing for God sake you people should first answer to curt allegations that prohibited such action to be carried out in the absentee of AGF of the federation. Mr president form your cabinets before doing this as this country is not military errand please practice true democracy this selected way of fighting corruption is not the right way let it be holistic not sacred cow OBJ kill the power sector by eating misappropriation of 16B. US not even a letter has been sent to him by Effcc or the likes but he goes about asking for the past administration heads on the plate. This administration told us that is probe end with the previous government but why going to 2003 for saraki case file when Tinubu is among this set of 2003 too please let fight corruption like someone who truly care about this country not to fulfill political point or powers score and at the end it doesn't reflect in the life of common men in the street. We are tired of this kind of anti-corruption campaign Saraki doesn't declared correct or accurate asset how does this affect the unemployment in the youths and put food on the Table of does who don't have money to pay for bills please let stop playing with the future of our children an do the right thing if you want to go back into 2003 then put full scale war within then till date

  64. What does Saraki stand to gain from declaration of asset he still dream to hv. Can we call that a visual asset or budgeted asset from the money he plan to steal? This guy just mess himself within 100days of been Senate Leader forcefully

    ReplyDelete
  69. Let's face the reality Saraki is not the only one to be tried in this position others should go through the same process and if found guilty they should leave the government post and work and face the music.
However, FEMI FANI KAYODE SHOULD BE RE-RETIAL AM SURE HE SHOULD BE IN THE PRISION BY NOW. HE WAS ALEGED STONED BILLIONS OF NAIRAS IN TWO OCCASIONS AND HE WAS AQUITED.
WHERE ABOUT THE ALEGED MONEY STONED THAT TOOK HIM TO COURT. THE JUDGES SHOULD TIRED JUDGES WHERE PUBLIC ARE HAVING MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT THE TRIALS.

  70. The Saraki's don't go down without swinging very hard.PMD is setting himself up for failure with all these selected persecutions.Tinubu should keep on doing what he is doing his cup will soon full. Tinubu thinks nobody knows all the atrocities he committed in Lagos state.Tinubu thinks that all that AIT documentary on him is a lie. Watch and see Saraki will have the last laugh this maybe the beginning of trouble to come for APC and PMB. If the Nigeria Police does not arrest him like they boasted, then they must be very stupid to make such an open statement.Tribunal judge can't be bigger than himself. In democracy you respect both sides,if a federal judge put a court injunction for Saraki, all the Tribunal need to do is to file a counter motion against injunction.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Senator Godswill Akpabio also staged an accident and escaped from the country because he got wind of the DSS search of Akwa Ibom Government House Presidential Lodge which produced weapons and millions of dollars stored in rooms there. He is still ensconced in London. With over 200 petitions against him and the DSS raid, he must be extradited and arrested on arrival. No wonder he helped Saraki become Senate President by coordinating PDP to support him. President Buhari, may God bless you as you continue the fight against corruption. Nigerians are tired of being poor and deprived while so-called leaders steal us blind and are cheered on by their cronies, associates and girlfriends.
